A lot of posts seem less polished than content on instgram. do you think that makes tumbler feel more genuine or is it just nostalgia ?

I think it’s a bit of both, but Tumblr feels more personal because people often share random thoughts, niche interests, and messy little moments without trying to make everything look perfect. Instagram can feel more curated, while Tumblr feels more like seeing what’s actually going on in someone’s head.

Tumblr reminds me of a time when social media felt more personal and less like a competition. People could post random thoughts, favorite quotes, or something they related to without turning everything into a perfectly edited post.

Probably both, but Tumblr’s culture plays a big part. People often post for a small community rather than chasing likes or perfect aesthetics, which can make conversations feel more personal.

Maybe it’s the little imperfections that make the difference. A random post that wasn’t planned for hours can sometimes tell you more about a person than a whole feed of carefully chosen pictures.

Tumblr is mostly made up of loyal users who share content based on their passions and interests. As a result, the content on Tumblr tends to be more thoughtful and high-quality.

I think it's both, but Tumblr's casual reblogs and personal blogs make posts feel less staged. People seem more comfortable sharing random thoughts there instead of trying to make every post look perfect.
Yeah, it's likely an important element of what makes Tumblr attractive. The authenticity of a post will earn it more reblogs than something that seems too well-thought out, in my opinion.

Tumblr posts often feel more authentic because they’re casual, personal, and less polished. People share real thoughts, niche interests, and experiences without trying too hard to sell something. That makes the content feel more relatable and genuine.

Yeah, that’s what makes Tumblr unique, I think. Personal content is more likely to generate real engagement rather than marketing content, particularly when it comes to niche groups that are interested in the same topics.
