I know I can check a domain history using WHOIS lookup tools and the wayback, but these tools do not always show me the full history.
This happened to me before I bought a domain that showed no history on Whois or Wayback then Later, when I checked its backlinks I found that the domain had previously been used for redirects.

How can I make sure a domain has never been registered or used before? Are there any reliable tools or methods to check its complete history and avoid such problems?

There's no single tool that does this for you - like you've gathered you have to use a number of them to check whether the domain has ever existed before. I would say checking for the presence of a domain on these 3 sites should give enough info:
Code:
https://www.bigdomaindata.com/whois-history/
https://completedns.com/
https://archive.org/

You can also check for backlinks on Ahrefs or Semrush, and even just search Google for the domain name in quotes. Any hits would be a sign it has existed before.

No tool gives you a 100% guarantee, since whois history is often blank because of privacy and Wayback only shows what it managed to archive. The most honest trail is old backlinks and their anchors: if sites from 2015 point at it with random anchors, that domain definitely had a past life.

Thank you for your information I'll check

That's exactly the problem. I just want to make sure that my domain hasn't been hit by google in the past or used for anything shady I simply want a completely new domain because I'm going to work in a niche where almost 98% of all possible TLDs have already been used or taken. that is why I'm worried that my domain might have been used before.

If whois history, Wayback and the link databases show nothing at all, the practical risk is close to zero. Penalties stick to a site with content and links, not to a bare domain string that was once registered.

Yes that makes sense. Thanks, I’ve checked everything and my domain is new. I hope I made the right decision by buying it.
