Cloaking., how stable they are rankings under googlebot vs. user rendering?

For those still testing cloaking, how are you tracking differences between what googlebot renders nd what users actually see, especially with page content, internal links, and canonical signals?

Are you seeing ranking volatility or deindexing after google recrawls these URLs, or have some setups stayed stable over the long haul?

Yep, that's what i am try to fig out. basics cloaking easier to detect but interesed of this setup of multiple recrawls. dom and canonical alignment keep ranking stable long term or does it delay isssues

agreed, check both versions regularly make sense but real qns be how differ google actually tolerate before it as problem. noticed of ranking stayed stable for month when it recrawl it drops

A user agent switch from your own machine proves nothing. A decent cloaking setup verifies Googlebot by reverse DNS and IP range, so a spoofed UA just gets the user version and the two look identical. The ground truth is the URL Inspection live test. Pull the rendered HTML and screenshot from there, then diff it against what a normal browser gets. Run it on a schedule for a sample of URLs and log a content hash, the internal link count and the user declared vs Google selected canonical. That last pair is where drift shows first.

On stability, a few good weeks mean little. Cloaking sits under manual actions in Google's policies, and the usual risk is a delayed action or a spam classifier hit after a recrawl, not an instant drop.
