Hmm to be honest I don't think DMOZ listing is that important anymore... Does anyone have any proof or atleast a case study that it actually does affect the rankings ?

I think the appeal of DMOZ was because it source the Google directory. But yeah, it's really not the be all and end all.

I think if you really want to get in, then consider becoming an editor

I'm sure it helps you rankings, but honestly, so does a quality xrumer blast.
Why not just focus on high PR links on lots of sites? We know that works...

And yeah, I think it's a pretty well known fact that a lot of the guys that have links in there are editors. That's why they won't approve competitions links...


That being said, if you are dead set on trying to get your site included, there are a number of SEO pros that will help you write up the submission, find the exact category and get your site published. But they usually want a lot of $$$

I want to share my experince (I'm not native english then I'm sorry for my english)
I've submited 3 sites to dmoz and all of them have been listed.

I do the following things step by step.

1. Check the category where your site looks most relevant.
2. Read all competitors on that page. How they write their description. This is the best guideline to describe your site.
3. Briefy describe about your site. Your description should be different. Do not spam keyword at all.
4. Submit your site to the category in #1.
5. Wait
