Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that some Facebook pages with smaller audiences get much more engagement than larger pages.
Do you think meaningful engagement matters more than having a high follower count?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

If your content doesn't align with your followers' interests, then having a large following is meaningless. But engagement is different; it shows your content is attracting a lot of attention. Therefore, in my opinion, engagement is far more important.

The follower count was the measure of how many people followed you while engagement rate will tells how many people were still interested in you . for a page that aims at marketing and building communities i would pay closer attention to the latter.

I think so. Just because someone follows you doesn't necessarily mean they are interested in the products you create; the people who actually interact with your products are the ones who are truly your customers.

Interaction shows that your page is alive; people are interested in the content you post. If you only have followers but no one responds, your page is no different from a dead page.

Facebook is really weird. just few months back, pages with 1M+ used to have more engagement, but then Facebook flipped this formula - maybe to give a fair chance to everyone. Followers still a good factor, but more followers doesn't mean you'll get a good reach, it just means you may get an extra chance with distribution of your posts.

Interactions let you know whether people like your posts.
Follows show you how many people want to watch your videos again.
I think both are important.

You need to ensure that the page's followers are real people, not fake accounts.
A page with a high number of genuine followers always holds many advantages.

Number of followers may sound impressive on paper but only comments, shares and conversation shows that people were truly listening u and ur content . I would rather have a smaller engaged following any day.
