When I look up certain keywords on Ahrefs, I see absurd, nonsensical keywords showing search volumes and traffic as high as 340,000. Those numbers don’t necessarily mean someone is sending 340 k real searches. Ahrefs uses estimated search-volume data, and weird queries can sometimes get inflated or grouped unexpectedly.


People do use automated searches and other manipulation to generate artificial signals, but I wouldn’t rely on those techniques—they violate Google’s spam policies and can lead to ranking problems.

my thought exactly because most of the things i see are not really correct so i tend to just go for both manual search and analytics before doing anything

Its just an estimation
You should at least try and compare it with other tools like SEMrush

I don't think thats an accurate data if it has so much of a volume the competition can't be less obviously

It is very easy to manipulate things like that, but it is useless if it only looks good on Ahrefs / SEMrush. In my industry, which is online casinos, this is because I manipulate Google suggestions so that search volume becomes huge with low keyword difficulty.
