What do you include in SEO reports for clients?

A good addition for you could be some on-site advice, minor tweaks which clients can do themselves easily can often see some nice improvements, an easy cost free way to gain some brownie points with clients I've found.

I keep track of all clients traffic too and will always point out when delivering reports any improvements and where I feel there is room for more. You want to show them that your work is worth what they're paying and even more so that they NEED you - show them why.

I keep mine simple, rankings, organic traffic, leads/conversions, GSC insights, backlinks, content published, and next steps.

I usually focus on rankings, organic traffic, GSC data, and completed work. Keeping reports simple makes them easier for clients to understand.

I’d show the numbers that actually tell the client what changed: clicks, impressions, rankings, leads or sales, pages gaining or losing traffic, new content, links built, and important fixes. For a 15day report, I’d also compare it with the previous 15 days and point out the 2or3 biggest changes. That makes the report useful instead of just being a list of SEO tasks.

Most clients don’t need another page of numbers. I’d finish the report with three things: what moved, why it probably moved, and what you’re doing next. For a 15-day report, that’s more useful than listing every completed task.

I also tend to add keyword ranking movement for a tracked set of target terms and organic traffic trend from GA4 comparing to previous period.

What do you include in SEO reports for clients?

One of my clients asks for a report every 15 days. I’m just curious what other people are doing.

I often include:
New blog posts
Google Search Console metrics
Google Business Profile metrics
Some backlink-related work
Fifteen days represents a relatively tight timeframe for SEO data, given that rankings and traffic require time to compound. That said, your list provides a solid foundation for a biweekly check in.

Asking you for an SEO report on every 15 days, is it 15 days from the day you started the SEO or what? Because for me I think 15 days is too early to start seeing results.

For backlink work, I include the actual links built target pages anchor text used keyword and whether the pages are indexed. Just saying "X backlinks built" doesnt tell the client much about what they actually received.

Got it

In my opinion you should include the top pages that gained or lost traffic. this can be more useful than showing too many numbers.

Mention any technical issues you found and fixed during those 15 days. Even small fixes can be useful for the client to know about.

I tend to keep the reports on track regarding what is important organic traffic positions Search Console information updates of the content and backlinks for the report in 15 days it may be helpful to have it simple and comparable to the previous one.

I would also add keyword/ranking shifts, organic traffic, conversions, technical factors, and actions taken.

The report should definitely establish the connection between SEO efforts and business results.

I like keeping reports focused on actual progress rather than overwhelming clients with data.
GSC performance, ranking changes, traffic, completed work, and next steps usually cover the important stuff.

I think comparing each 15-day period with the previous one is important. I would highlight the biggest changes, explain what likely caused them and mention what needs attention next instead of overwhelming the client with too many numbers.

I usually include rankings, traffic, conversions, and completed work, then highlight the key changes and next steps for the coming period.
