When is Google going to do its next major update?

My blog is over 3 months old. Approx 5k in visitors per month now yet my PR is a ZERO. Also, i have written countless articles, about 40, which rank on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th page of Google for a certain keyword, all linking back to my site. I also used ISNARE and sent at least 3 of those articles out to 40,000 sites. I cant believe my site is still ranked a PR 0. Iv checked the back links to my site with SEO E*ITE and it shows very few if any backlinks GASP! Those are coming from Usfreeads that has the NO FOLLOW tag set and a few other sites, less than 5. This tells me the Google has not done a major update in ages. In addtion, i have submitted 2 videos to all the video sharing sites. Those links can be found on pages 1 - 20 including the biggie Youtube.

Anyone know when this is going to occur or what the problem is?

3 months? Gonna have to be longer than that. I had a domain with minimal content that has 300 backlinks, it has a pr of 4.. It's 4 years old. With google you should not focus on one domain. Promote many with the same method

I have a webhosting domain that is 9yrs old and only a PR3. But thats not the point. I never really tried to push it any further but this one im talking about has be promoted heavily. What im asking is, is it because Google has not run a major update. Im sure its got to be better than a zero and im sure it has more than 5 backlinks. Hell, i have links all over the place including 40k in article submissions, at the min.

Why not build from the domain that already has a higher PR? IIRC their PR updates are quarterly. Maybe all that activity on the domain caused something to be flagged? If you're in the serps and haven't been banned I would just wait.

i've gotten PR3 on domains that were a few months old with a handful of backlinks. sounds like you got flagged.

PR3 should be easy to get. PR4 and over though is hard...

Hmm not sure why. Iv spend thousands on PPC to that website why else would i have gotten flagged?

How do i find out if i have?

Try having a look at G webmaster tools. You might get more insight into what's happening. I have a pr1 domain with alexa of about 2.5M showing 0 links from the link command but 177 links in the webmaster tools.

Just create a google account and go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

Don't add any domains that you don't want linked in the same account.

PR doesn't pay the bills, PR doesn't give you traffic, PR doesn't give you better rankings.

Use your time to build for more traffic instead of a higher PR.

PR is really useless i outrank high PR sites all the time with my pr0 .info domains, PR can only be used to scam other suckers that think PR is the shit to buy links from your site, until G finds out and burn your site out of the index.

Again, im at wits end with this crap.

I do a lookup on my backlinks and site that i have posted on PR8 7 6 do not show up anywhere as far as backlinks to my site. I have 27 articles alone at ezinearticles which is a PR6 and only one, i repeat 1 article is linked to my site. What about the other 26? Why dont they show up as backlinks?

I continue to add links to high ranking PR sites and site with an Alexa of less that 100,000 yet none of those are showing up as banklinks. Im exhausted. Im spending 12hrs day trying to get my site ranked. All i see are a bunch of video shared sites with NOFOLLOW tags and only one 6 PR ranking site.

WTF does it take? I went to Yahoo and used the link:mydomain.com only to find a mesely 38 backlinks which are rubbish backlinks.

aarrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhh. Surely, amongst you gurus there are answers and somebody can shed a light on why. I doubt very much that my site has been flagged. Somebody mentioned using the webmaster tool but how do i check if my site is flagged using this tool?

PR does not matter... well toolbar pr doesn't.. Your site is NOT a pr zero in true pr.. Just in toolbar (outdated) pr..

Just continue to what you are doing in promoting this site. Articles are great way to do this and will outrank your site from the beginning. Just make sure your articles are indexed on YOUR SITE prior to submitting to other sites.

According to SEO Elite, in order to get ranked high in your niche you need to get high ranking PR sites and high ranking Alexa ranking site as banklinks. Why then are people here stating that this is not true and that it doesn't matter?

I would like to think that Brad knows what his talking about in his videos. Why then are they pushing these facts? I own a copy of SEO Elite and hope the information they are feeding me is legit, at least in their videos.

Why do people here keep saying the opposite?
