Do internal links help with ranking faster?

It is not a direct ranking factor. But internal linking makes the browsing for visitors easier which results in them spending on more time on the blog. This gives them a boost on Google ranking.

the most important benefit i see in internal linking is not a fast ranking boost but rather aiding google to understand the connection between related pages. in some cases a highly internal linked page might be discovered sooner especially if it is linked from a highly rellevant page.
 
I have a plugin for internal linking and it automates much of it. Exists as LTD I bought though the free version does some amount and I dont think it has to be overdone. Internal Linking of Related Contents, 4 Stars it has.
