I wonder how Instagram is doing these days in 2026.

I'm more into content creating, designing stuff from Canva and using LLM/AI as my assistant so I wouldn't run out of ideas. I tend to like design a lot and I take snapshots and make how to from the notes after I discover something that worked for me in web design(probably blog the results too). Would Instagram be worth my time starting off?

Yep, I think Instagram could fit you pretty well especially since you already enjoy design and documenting things you discover.
My Mind right about now is saying "Ya hear that? Your long journey to solve all of this is finally coming to an end!". Everything that had been building up to this monent where I lack in finding ONE social media platform and going hard. Phew now in the upcoming days I can sort all of this out. Thanks.

Yes, definitely. Your canva designs, web design tips, and quick tutorials are a great fit for Instagram. Start with Reels and carousels, then reuse the best ideas for your blog. And this would be better.

Instagram is still very relevant in 2026, but it has changed significantly from the old “post a photo + hashtags + wait for likes” model.
A few things stand out:
Reels remain a major discovery channel.
Shares are increasingly important.
Original content matters.
Carousels aren't dead.
Authenticity is becoming more valuable.

Your content style fits Instagram pretty well the useful part is turning your design experiments into something people can actually learn from.

Hey, how about that? Thanks everybody for your suggestions. Well, I might as well go hard and all in on Instagram.

Like I said, I was already taught the idea that if you provide a solution to a person's problem to a pain, you gain more respect.

I'm in the Tech industry and I loathe cold calls and video because I choke up too easy and looking to see if I can make it just creating and providing content for now. I have mostly used:

Wordpress (Gutenberg Bricks Builder, Elementor and Astra)
Webflow JUST before they changed their pricing structure to be more expensive and limit their pages to 2 limiting what I can create there
HTML via Pinegrow
Framer

I have a lot of notes on what I specifically did to make those web designs work as I have a lot of evidence working on the mentioned platforms above.

I already agreed upon using Instagram and amplify it with the blog + List building. This is the best I can do for what I asked for and this gives me leverage.

My main focus before all of this right now is getting organic traffic slow and steady.

Yes, Instagram is definitely worth investing in when you're just starting out, especially given the type of content you described. However, I wouldn't view it as the sole place to build your brand; instead, treat it as a distribution channel for the process of learning, designing, and sharing your discoveries.
Actually before this very forum I messed up by spreading myself far too much buy going around and listening to all kinds of pdf's and videos and lacked traffic instead of asking for advice on what niches works best for each platform. Google alone by itself is not enough anymore and that ship sailed a long time ago.
Now these days instagram is more for Startups selling buying products
Too Vague. I looked at Instagram myself in the web design/design niche and creating content still works more than outright promoting a product and in my case building trust to build a brand and getting traffic will matter.

Yeah, IG sounds like a good fit for that. You already have visual content and useful how to stuff to share. I would just start posting and see which format gets the best response.

yes i do believe that instagram could be a good choice for u considering ur interest in designs. u could share ideas from canva, before nd after designs, how tos, nd any interessting things that u come across in the process. u should not rush though nd instead begin with simple stuff to test ur waters first.

It seems like follower counts don't really matter much on Instagram anymore, everything is in the hands of the algorithm

With reels Instagram is doing really good now, Also combine it with Growth Services and it will be top class.

Well, yes, I believe that the number of followers no longer plays such an important role. A small account with good watch time and engagment will do better than a large account without activity.

Previously on Instagram the limits were higher, Now its reduced but the growth is still intact. A few updates happened like Verified users can hide their followers and likers, which reduces the target options when you run a service.

Now Limits have gone up a little, You need to combine multiple growth services along with reels in order to get good growth.

For selling products, Cold DMs work really good.

I think you should post on every platform you can — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X... whatever. If you've already made the content, why not just post it everywhere at once?

If you genuinely enjoy the creative process, treating it as a portfolio channel makes it worth the effort, no need to chase rapid viral growth.

I understand your concern, but going to too many places and too many social media platforms at once wastes a whole lot of time in my experience. I would prefer taking my time mastering one instead of all as not every platform acts the same and the niches don't act the same across platforms as well(I did most of the research which lead me part as to why I asking this very same platform). Not to mention, I read what happened to Reddit recently, don't trust X and Pinterest doesn't suit the web designer as much as Instagram does tbh.

yeah, instagram could be worth it for that kind of content, especially carousels, quick tutorials, and before/after designs.

I think you’ve got a pretty solid angle here. Instead of trying to be everywhere, focusing on one platform and turning your real web-design experiments into useful content sounds much more sustainable. The blog + Instagram approach also makes sense because the IG content can attract attention while the blog builds something you own long term. Testing different formats first and doubling down on what actually gets engagement seems like the best way to start.
