What worked two months ago on TikTok and IG Reels suddenly drops off, and everyone starts chasing the next minor algorithm shift.

Exactly—this is what I see many content creators looking for: the element that changes the fastest isn't necessarily the algorithm itself, but rather how we adapt to its mechanics to serve our audience.

I've also noticed the same thing happening: Creators don't pay attention to the small details, the algorithms change to serve their audience, but if they stick with the same templated content, it will be very difficult to reach different audiences.

Absolutely. Organic reach does feel like a moving target in 2026 because platforms increasingly decide what users see through recommendation systems rather than simply showing posts to followers. Hootsuite notes that organic reach is harder to earn, while current platform changes continue to reshape distribution.

That’s always been the case though, the whole point of this is trying to stay ahead of the curve to bring in consistent traffic.

thats why most ppl struggle, they chase the algorithm instead of building trust with accounts. properly aged accounts with consistent engagement history handle these shifts way better than new accs. diversify your portfolio and focus on warming them up properly, then the algorithm changes don't hurt as much

What worked yesterday can fade up later which makes testing and adapting essential for organic growth.

Yes agree

Exactly. Instead of chasing every small algorithm change, focus on content quality and consistency. Strong ideas can be adapted and improved rather than completely changing your strategy every time performance drops.

That’s the whole point of organic traffic on socials though, you have to move along with where the trend is going to stay ahead of the curve.

You have to keep using what's working for you

real talk, account age makes a huge difference. newer accounts get hit way harder by algo shifts than aged accounts with real history. thats why account warming and building foundation matters more than people think, once you have that base you can actually recover faster from changes

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Feels like you finally figure out what works, and then they switch it up again. I just try to stay consistent and not overthink every little change. It's exhausting chasing it all the time.
