Reports suggests they're mostly recipe and listicle sites.

Many claim it's for using AI images, others say it's for using AI texts or both.

But AI content is basically the reason, irrespective of the traffic source.

Some termination notice I saw, mentioned content and/or traffic. I wonder why they're not specific.

How do they even determine if the content is AI generated? Almost every website uses AI in their workflow now.

To be fair, with some websites it's very glaring everything or the very vast majority of the content are AI. But the issue is that some bloggers don't spend time improving their content to not look like AI even though it isn't.

By the way, everyone can reapply, after 60 days. That should be after all issues have been fixed. I think this makes MediaVine the best.

I wasn't affected, but I recently watched some videos on YouTube about recipe websites being massively promoted on Pinterest using AI generated photos, not sure if it's related

My website was affected and I didn't do anything different from the day I started to use them, you can check my site and tell me what is wrong: doggozila.com

I don't blame them tbh. They pay good and expect good quality content from the publishers. More ad networks need to punish these AI slop publishers.

For my reason they said this: Specifically, we have found evidence that your site has been receiving traffic from invalid sources.

But I have never bought any traffic or something like that, actually the traffic is the same as the first day I started using them.

For what it's worth, a few people I know got caught up in this and found out traffic spikes from odd referral sources were the main red flag. Cleaning up those junk links and reworking thin content seemed to lower the risk of getting booted again. Mediavine's been pretty open about wanting human-made stuff - having screenshots or drafts to show your workflow helped with reapplying too.

In my opinion, ad networks are making a move ahead from just implementing AI for the same. It is not the technology that become the priority but the traffic quality, user engagement nd even the usefulnes of the content to the visitor.

So I got confirmation from mediavine that the suspension was about the traffic and not about the content on my site

When I checked little more deeper, I saw for the last two months traffic from China and Singapore.

My main traffic source from always was USA and than EU, but the last two months I got bot traffic with 3 seconds visits from Asia as I mentioned...

Also for this period of time I received tons of emails from many different Chinese companies about manufacturing different stuff, not at all from my industry, as I was asking them before and now they are replying to me.. and I never did that!

So, I guess this was done to me on purpose by some idiot!

It's a shame that i need to wait two months to reapply...

Any advice for this and how to stop idiots like these?

however, this could be more related to the traffic quality than the actual content. I will be keeping my eye on the referral source nd statistic nd if any garbage traffic is known, it needs to be blocked, with traffic pattern screenshot taken.

Yes, one shouldn;t make assumptions about whether AI was the reason behind it without looking at the actual policy. Sites offering recipes/listicles with thin or repetitive content may seem alike whether or not AI was invlved.
