hey guys, my friend and I are in the middle of starting an SEO businesses for local businesses etc... but we had a few concerns and wondering how other people charge...

how do you guys charge? per keyword? does it matter if the keyword is tougher than other? i know its a monthly charge but how do you guys determine the price? i know this may be stupid questions but we just want to have an idea how other people do it so we dont start under charge or over charge.. thanks for the help

well em not expert enough

but give u rough idea

easy competition = 450 - 600$ per month
meduim competition = 700 - 900$ per month
hard competition = 1500 - 3000$ per month

thank you for the rough idea.. it helps to decide :)

I do it by the keywords on the competition but ball park about 10% to 20% lower the Cyrsss
It just depends on people and what they want. Like someone that is going to have "booty short" is going to have a higher search volume then "booty shorts rochester ny" so localization of things and also with it you can do google local listing availability and cause it to rank better. So it just depends. You got to understand people that use other tools like Xrumer and all these other SENUKE and so forth run the risk with google sandboxing them. Cause of 1 thing. Traffic... people can do redirects and other cookie stuffing methods but all those lead to being sandboxed.

So things people should justify on knowing is your client can come back and haunt you unless you take methods to drive organic - and search engine searched traffic to these sites.

Now there are methods of doing this and all these things should also hold into the price you are going to charge. Myself i got a stupid sick botnet of users and computers that run this tasking for me. But then again you gotta build up the cost to profit rates. So if you only going to do xrumer or senuke blast then you can charge what ever you like.. But if you are going to do all the right steps then you gotta do what i also shared in this post. :)

Best of Luck

Cookie stuffing is not a method of gaining traffic. It is stealing.

Do any of you charge separately for things?

Like a flat fee for:

Keyword Research

Competition Analysis

Site Review

Then a monthly fee for the actual rank building campaigns?

Take a look at the other SEO companies in your city and see how they are structuring their prices.

Call up and act like a dumb business owner. Take notes on how they sell you.

thank you guys... this helps alot... i just need to get my prices and packages together before we launch... any other advices or tips i should keep in mind? im dealing with local businesses

try analyzing your local competitor pricing also ...

so that you don't charge too high or too low

You can also look at Guru & Freelancer to get some ideas about pricing and structuring but keep in mind that many of the gurus are from overseas. You want to emphasize your own ability to meet in person locally to address your customer's needs. That should command a premium in your own pricing. :D

yes agreed

this is all great advice.. thats what i kinda though depending on the competition level... thanks alot guys... any other tips on how to get the business going is highly appreciated

In Aus we are charging 10K upfront + $500/mo

the 500 per month, how is the competition? do you base it on that? and also when you charge somebody upfront, is that like a set up fee? and how can you determine the set up fee? also do you get your customers to do some kind of contract?, ex: 1 year etc

guys sorry for all the dump questions, this is my first time starting to do this for money and theres no other place that offers the kind of help you guys do
