Building a "Comedy - Funny" SFW Subreddit (with news) to 1 Million Visits Monthly and selling it for $XXXXX | Start 07.26

Summary:
I have a Comedy/Funny content kind of Subreddit that i've been building since mid July 2026. It's just hit a pump in algorithim power/reach and is growing rapidly. My goal now is to build it to 1M visitors per month and flip it off for $X,XXX to $XX,XXXX. It all depends on how big it gets.

Current weekly visitors: 1x,xxx

Current monthly views: 12x,xxx

Expected time to see it go to 1M views in reach -- 60/90 days.

Will I have news links in the sub? Yes, news is important to any niche to me, especially because I work with news daily.

Exact sales prices, i have no clue. The challenge of just reaching 1M in a charted course is just fun.

Amount of posts being made daily now? 3-5x posts per day.

I'm also planning to drive traffic to a social platform Im building and hopefully get a lot of user registrations, build my own resources instead of depending on reddit

The website for this has launched, and I also have a store that I just started adding "produced on order' goods to today. Hoping to generate revenue from this as well

I dont like to depend on others. I go as far as I can, end to end.

I had a couple of crossposts from users from bigger subreddits. I feel crossposts like this are orchestrated not organic. I take it as a nod I've been noticed for the reach.

Hopefully I get more posts up, though it doesn't matter a ton. The key is quality, not quantity.

- Consistent posting from Aged accoutns with high karma
- I own some powerful subreddits (a top 4) so I can crosspost to gain traction
- You need real activity (comments, upvotes, etc)
- No bots... it kills you in the end
- I do not try to comment or manipulate a post with my own accounts . All white hat.
- Quality content is key

having a top sub to crosspost from is basically a cheat code, saves so much time. comedy traffic is usually garbage for direct ad money but redirecting them to your own store is the way to go. how are you planning to bypass the handoff risk when you sell it though? reddit admins have been nuking subs lately if they see a sudden change in top mods, especially if the IPs dont match up.

Luckily I've not had that problem.

I just transferred subs last week, nothing.

I'd question how the people are maintaining their subs to get that outcome.

I have multiple ways I can use the sub honestly ; especially since it will still rank in search for things.

As long as my Subs have that high WLS score and Im ranking in search and reddit, I can find a way to generate revenue

You can do clip farming work for social media influencers if you're in the loop but that's not quite my line of work... Im just aware of it.

Super focused on my other project so i was slow on updates today. Had two organic posts, which is great. The workload is lightening up a bit.

Adding some news links to the group now too to make sure I can feed this forum URLs in time for funnelling traffic to my own sites.

I'll have to do a new post for a new one.

Sold a group of my lower tier subs & the guy i sold it do, did something we agreed he would not. Caused a bad reaction from reddit for spamming -- caught in the recent wave of bans I guess.
