Do you also feel that Siri is too basic and outdated?

i have been using a macbook for almost an year now, it's my first experience with an Apple product. It's great overall, but I feel Siri is so basic. Siri looks like an AI created in 2021.

At this stage, I would imagine Siri being capable of talking to you like ChatGPT or Gemini are able to do. Answer basically everything you might ask it. But in fact, it's too basic. I know Siri and ChatGPT are not the same, but it would be nice if Siri became this all-in-one hub to ask whatever you want and also maintain its current skills to help you with daily activities, emails and some assistance on your computer at the same time.

Agreed, siri has one job and somehow she still needs me to explain what I mean.

I only use Siri to know the temperature and what time is it, I tried to convert her into my girlfriend like Cortana, but she didn't like me

siri is so outdated even apple gave up on it lol, theyre literally paying google 1 billion a year to put gemini inside it. new siri drops with ios 27 so ur macbook gets a brain transplant soon

I really don't think it's absolutely needed... basic is just so underrated sometimes.
We always want more when basic is just enough. We humans : D

I think it would be a great update for Apple devices, it's a bit shameful to still offer this kind of low quality AI in such a powerful and expensive device

It didn't need to be as high quality as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT, but it's still very basic, worse than most free LLMs

I thought there was an update where they connected Siri with chatgpt.
If it isn't i will love to see Siri combine ChatGPT-level conversation with its ability to control the Mac, apps, files, emails, etc. That would make it a completely different assistant.

That's fair. Doesn't help that a saturation of decent AI assistants make Siri feel even more dated. I'm fairly positive Apple is cooking something up on that front though. It's due for an overhaul. The interesting part will be seeing whether they can combine a proper conversational AI with all the device-level stuff Siri already does.
