Pinterest account suddenly stopped performing — any idea what happened?

Hi everyone,

I have a Pinterest account that had been performing really well for quite a while. The account is about 2 years old, and I was only posting a few Pins per day (never more than 5), always pointing to different URLs.

It had been getting a really good amount of saves and overall engagement, and some of my Pins were ranking very well. But suddenly, it feels like everything just died.

I’m no longer seeing the Pins that used to rank, and traffic and visibility have dropped dramatically. The account basically went from performing extremely well to almost nothing.

The URLs themselves are working fine and are not blocked, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

Has anyone experienced something similar recently? Could this be some kind of algorithm change, account-level restriction, or a temporary visibility issue?

Any ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Check account analytics, recent Pin performance, and any policy notifications first.

If nothing looks wrong, I'd keep posting normally for a couple of weeks and see if visibility comes back.

It could be a change in ranking don't think it's an issue with your URLs. I suggest you continue to post consistently and allow some time for the results to show.

I'm glad for you, because it would seem that you account was shadow banned otherwise.

Pinterest support confirmed to me that my account is fine (I don’t know if I believe them xD), but the hit was really hard. I don’t know if it will recover. I’ll keep posting.

Not yet, but new pins shows few metrics. I did a deep analysis, and I doubt that this update they did in last month might be the reason. I've read it carefully to understand what they really did. they've changed how the feed shows pins to users completely, and this is why many of the pins I was ranking for got outranked.

A sudden drop does not always mean an account restriction since Pinterest distribution can change with trends seasonality and engagement check whether impressions dropped first or only clicks and saves dropped.

That should help identify whether the issue is visibility or content performance.
