I live in a poor, so called third-world country. Using version 12.9.1 of the Telegram Android apk and a gmail account I am able to create an account, receive a validation code and successfully enter it. However, I get stuck on a screen which says something about SMS messages in my country being very expensive, so I need to further verify to get a better way of sending SMS messages. I can't bypass this screen.

If I use older versions of Telegram or Telegram X, they all ask for my phone number. The verification codes never reach my phone.

How can I create and use a TG account?

You can just buy a telegram account
Interesting! What happens if I'm asked to verify that I'm really the owner of the account?

Suppose the account was created in Michigan, then someone uses it in Bangladesh. How do I deal with the challenges faced with proving I'm the same person? Or, does TG care at all?

I tried using an Instagram account I created many years ago while logged into a VPN. I was blocked and eventually lost the account.

It looks like Telegram blocked the registration because of the restriction on phone numbers verification in your area, To be honest, the best way for you is to use a regular number and contact Telegram support.

You can buy a telegram account and link your own email to it - in this case the risk of losing it is minimal. The most important thing is to use the account very carefully after purchase, preferably not performing any actions at all in the first few days

Honestly buying one will rid you of the hassle of trying to create it yourself.

It's usually better to import the provided cookies into a separate anti detect browser profile, instead of logging in from a completely new setup.

You can also consider using a consistent residential proxy from the account's original region and avoid frequent IP changes.

Then you'd turn on 2FA, swap the recovery email to yours, and kick out any other active sessions you don't recognize.

If creating an account is difficult in your country, purchasing one from someone else might be easier and more efficient; otherwise, make sure to use a valid phone number to register.
