Honestly, I wish I had understood earlier that more backlinks doesn’t always mean better rankings. I used to focus a lot on getting more links, but later realized that relevance, quality, content, and the overall authority of the site matter much more. focus on quality not quantity
For me, it took way too long to realize that ranking for a keyword doesn't automatically mean getting traffic. I used to focus heavily on positions and search volume, but search intent and whether the page actually gives people what they want matter much more than I thought.
a realization i had way too late was that just bcz u have more backlinks does not necessarily mean that u will have better rankings. link building used to be a major focus of mine but now i know that the right content the right intent, internal linkking nd the right website are just as important.

Anchor text diversification is honestly the one thing I wish I'd figured out way sooner. When you're starting out it's so tempting to just spam exact match anchors on everything, then you sit there wondering why the site stalls or randomly drops. Taking the time to actually keep the profile looking natural and mixing up your anchors properly saves you so much headache later on. Sounds like a tiny detail but nailing that balance honestly changes everything.

Honestly, there have been many phases in my 14 years SEO career where I thought “I wish I had known this earlier.” but I don’t really have any regrets because SEO is an ongoing process. we learn every day and I think the important thing is to keep learning and adapting ourselves.
If you are talking about the more recent Google algorithm changes, though, I wish I had understood search intent earlier. it would have saved me from creating a lot of content that was relevant to a topic but didn’t really match what people were looking for.

Same here, search intent was an important learnig for me as well, A keyword may look absolutely right, but if the landing page does not meet user expectations, then the ranking will not last long.

exactly. that’s where a lot of people get stuck. Matching the keyword and matching what the page should actually cover are two different things.

I spent too much time in checking rankings every day. It took me a while t realize that SEO needs time and constant checking does not change the results.

Most beginners waste time chasing backlinks & tricks seo is 80% picking the right keywords plus matching search intent get that wrong & nothing else matters,

what the epiphany for me here was that seo does not rely on doing just one thing. It took me some time to grasp the significance of the need for doing proper research nd intent matching and doing everything right.

In my personal view, knowing how to effectively analyze the data is one of those thing. rankings, traffic, CTR nd behaviors can say much more than just positions each day.
