Would you spend money on backlinks at all in the beginning? Paid Ads? How much should i expect to get started Im trying to avoid throwing money at something that doesnt work, and i dont understand yet.

What's the niche? I think your best option with a low budget (under $500) will be buying an aged account that already has a relevant and quality links.

If it's already made then follow this :

1. Writing some content for easiest keywords you can find even with 10 searches/month

2. Niche edits without much OBL. Some of them are spammed to death with thousands of links (worthless).

3. Quora and reddit for their high engagement rate (specially reddit if your product is solid with a better pricing).

You shouldn't do link building for new sites that are currently in the google sandbox. If yours is at the same situation, go with content and social media first.

the kind of site and what you aim to achieve would decide what you should do first. But two things:
1. Never lead with money, else you'd spend money on unnecessary things or overpriced services and never achieve your desired result.
2. As a beginner, avoid paid ads unless you have a history of success with/from ads. Ads are the easiest way to burn budgets with nothing to show for it. With backlinks, you might spend a lot, not rank but you still have the links to your site, a few optimizations might eventually help, but with ads, all your spendings go to waste if you don't convert or extract any data from the ad traffic. Leave paid ads to experienced marketers.

I’d wait until the main pages are indexed, you’re seeing at least some impressions in GSC, and you’re not changing the site every other day. Then you’ve actually got a baseline and can tell if the links helped

dont buy backlinks yet, real ones cost $200-500 each and a new site cant use them anyway. skip paid ads too, they only multiply what already converts. 100 bukcs for domain + hosting, free tools, then everything into content on low competition long tail keywords. free links only at first (haro style sites, niche communities)

realistic total: 200-500 bucks for the first 6 months if you write yourself. new sites take 6-12 months to move no matter what you spend, so spending big early is just burning cash while google decides if you exist.

I had also avoid setting a fixed budget early. get the content and indexing moving first, then test a small batch of relevant link once you have baseline GSC data.

I’d focus first on solid content, basic on page seo and making sure the site actually offers something useful. I wouldn’t buy backlinks early build credibility naturaly. Paid ads can help test demand, but start small. A realistic beginner budget is 100$ 300$ month, then scale what proves effective.

Because of limited budget, there are many limitations. I think you should focus your investment on the least expensive things, which is creating a good script. Because backlinks aren't effective in the short term.

I will let the budget stay low until you can observe an increase in indexing nd impressions. In my view, it should be content + basic seo at first, then test some related link nd observe what GSC does.
