Thining abt adding a donate or buy me a coffee button to my blog but not sure if its actually worth it or just clutter the page for basically nothing .
Anyone here actually made meaningful money from blog donations, or is this only realistic for like really big established blogs with loyal audience.

I think it can work if the audience is genuinely engaged with the content. For smaller blogs, I’d test it first rather than letting it take up too much space.

Not exactly, but it's better if you have a good reason to do so. You should introduce useful things to visitors so they have a reason to donate.

Donation button don't really works as most peoples will not leave donation anyway unless is a noble cause

Do you have an audience that usually comes back to read your new posts? If yes, then it makes sense to add a donation button as those people can decide to help a blog owner if they like what they are publishing. If not, don't waste your time.

I've never had it on my blog before, and I've also never donated before.

So, ask yourself, how many times have you ever donated to other blogs in the past?

How likely are people to donate to you?

In my opinion, I don't think it works unless you provide very useful information that they were willing to pay for in the first place.

It won't work that much while you can get the info from somewhere else. If you are providing a paid content for free, it would work

I haven't donated a penny till now in my life

It works if you do it the right way.

You can have a “donate” button, but you need to explain why—and, most importantly, you can't combine it with an ad network like AdSense or affiliate links.

Of course, you need an audience.

I’d probably keep the button subtle and test it for a month. If regular readers value the content even a small number of donations can make the space worthwhile without hurting the page layout.

It can be worth testing, especially if your content provides real value. Don’t expect huge money at first, but a few loyal readers can make it worthwhile. Keep the button subtle so it doesn’t clutter the page.

It certainly works but only on blogs with very awesome content. You to be expert in the niche blog is about and it should solve some problem or query of the reader completely. If he is satisfied really, then only this is possible that he will donate.

I think it really depends on your audience. If your blog actually helps people some readers may be happy to support you. I d just add a small button and test it for a while rather than letting it take up too much space.

imo donations will perform better when there’s already an emotional connection established between the viewer and yourself, not only because the button is available. I would recommend adding a subtle one and tracking the performance for a couple of months; otherwise, eliminate it.

Mostly a waste of space unless you've got real community/repeat readers, not just search traffic
i have tested 2 sites barely made anything, definitely not worth the UI real estate it took up If monetization's the goal, affiliate links or a lead magnet placed in the same spot will outperform a donate button by a wide margin for most blogs.

to me it is something that may be worth trying if u are already getting readers who find value in ur content. donatiions will most likely not be substantial right away but adding an easy to use donation button at the end of each post is low risk.
