Managing 1,000+ Instagram accounts

Hey guys,

I’ve got software that can manage multiple Instagram accounts and automate things like posting, commenting, warming up accounts, etc.

The part I’m stuck on is the proxy setup.

Let’s say I wanted to manage around 1,000 Instagram accounts. How many proxies would I realistically need? Is it basically 1 proxy per account, or can multiple accounts safely share the same proxy depending on how they’re managed?

I already know datacenter proxies generally have a worse reputation for Instagram, but I’m wondering if anyone here has actually managed to run accounts successfully with them. If so, what kind of setup/ratio worked for you?

Also, if datacenter proxies can work for this kind of setup, are there any legitimate low-cost/free sources or methods for getting them? I’m not necessarily looking for premium residential proxies if there’s a cheaper option that works reliably.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience managing hundreds or 1,000+ IG accounts, especially what proxy/account ratio you use and what type of proxies you’ve found reliable.

The safest standard is 1 proxy per account, but you can share a 3:1 ratio if your budget is not allowing you to have unique IP for each account. Datacenter proxies are cheaper but trigger high ban rates unless paired with advanced anti-detect browsers, while free proxies will destroy your accounts within days. The best bet would be 5G Residential proxies.

Managing 1000 account is a challenge, if you can manage them, that will be incredible.

dont even think about using free proxies man... instagram will chain ban all one thousand accounts instantly. your best option is buying rotating 4g mobile proxies and putting around five accounts on each node.

Datacenter proxies should not be even in discussion when you want to manage social accounts that are also at a mass scale.

low cost - cheap price = worst proxies

Even some resi IPs are not good today, as they were spammed to death. Only 4G and 5G mobile proxies are what you need. Anything else you want to try, it's pretty hard to scale and function smoothly.

Usually the most cost efficient setup is 1 proxy per 3 accounts. If you want extra safety for each of your account you could also use 1 account/1 proxy but it will be ridiculously expensive. Also if people are running accounts with proxies on Instagram successfully they won't be revealing their set up here because they will automatically create competition for themselves.

1. 1 proxy per account (ideally the same each sessions)
2. NOT free, NOT datacenter, ideally dedicated residential or 4g-5g
3. ideally use android emulator or dedicated devices, it just has more trust.
4. ideally find a direct provider instead of a reseller (I love resellers btw)

If your software works via POST/GET requests instead of web version its even better.

That's look crazy, who will provide you 1000 ip, if you'll use anti detect browser, which one will give you 1000 profile

@Bhavapriyan if you try running 1k accounts on datacenter proxies they will get flagged during the verification stage almost instantly. even if you find a cheap provider the whole subnet is probably already blacklisted by meta anyway. if you are on a tight budget your best bet is honestly setting up your own cheap 4g proxy farm with a few cheap android phones or usb dongles and cycling the ips. buying hundreds of retail mobile proxies is going to eat all your margins before you even start... also you don't need a 1:1 ratio for mobile IPs, you can easily run 5 to 8 accounts per mobile proxy if you offset the action timings so they aren't posting at the exact same second.

I think you should test all the possible solutions first to find the most optimal approach. Of course, Instagram doesn’t specify any particular limit on the number of accounts that can be used on one IP address. It also depends on many factors, such as account behavior, content, and devices. The best approach is to test different setups yourself to gain the most practical experience.

I don’t think there’s a sureway proxy-to-account ratio. I think it depends a lot on the activity level and how the accounts are being managed. I’d start with a smaller test group and use the results to determine how aggressively you need to diversify the proxy allocation rather than committing to 1 proxy per account from the start.

I wouldn't build something that big around free/cheap proxies. They're usually so unstable that you'll spend more time fixing stuff than saving money.
