I have been wondering about this lately

There are so many people talking about AI affiliate marketing ecommerce freelancing seo and different online businesses but at the same time it feels like competition has become much harder than it was a few years ago

Do people still manage to build genuinely profitable online businesses from scratch in 2026

Or has the market become too competitive for beginners without a big budget

I would be interested to hear from people who are actually making money online right now

What business model are you using and what do you think still works today

I think it is still possible but the easy opportunities are definitely gone I have seen people do well with niche businesses and services but consistency seems to matter more than having a huge budget

Making money online is still booming in 2026. With AI developing so rapidly, online income opportunities are becoming more accessible and widespread than ever before.

The online money-making landscape is currently booming; you simply need to find a niche you are passionate about and build it with consistency and a strategic approach to content, and you can easily achieve success.

Definitely still possible, but I think the game has shifted from chasing quick methods to building something that can actually survive algorithm and platform changes. Niche sites, content, services, affiliate models, and social traffic can still work when there’s real value behind them. Consistency and testing seem to matter a lot more than finding a “secret” method in 2026.

People are definitely still making money, the difference is how cheap the whole thing got while everyone was busy arguing about whether it's dead.

Content is basically free now. What used to cost a few hundred a month for writers or spinners is pennies with Deepseek or GLM. Link building went the same way. I still run GSA SER daily and added Ranker X later, and with xevil handling captchas and AI doing the content, cost per link is nowhere near what it was back in the Word AI and Content Machine days. Same output, fraction of the spend, and most of it runs while you sleep.

For someone starting with no budget, affiliate is still the most realistic route. Find a niche you can actually stay interested in, get the site up, then dont fire everything straight at it. Buffer sites and web 2.0s in the middle, contextual tier 1 sitting on those, volume underneath pushing the tiers up. Boring structure, but it still works and these days you can automate nearly all of it for very little.

One thing worth adding, AI search hasn't killed links, it just changed what they do. AIO and the LLM answers pull from pages that are indexed and linked. No links, no citations, so you end up invisible in both places at once.

Market isn't too competitive. Most people quit after two months, or never build a single link the entire time.

The market is always competitive, and I agree that things are more difficult now. People are still making money online, you just need to find a unique saturated path.

There is no need to fear competition; embrace AI. With it, you can build anything you want. What was previously inaccessible and required years of gathering information can now be approached in any niche in a very short time. Just find your direction, tackle challenging tasks, and happiness will come to you.

What do u mean by still? Its easyer then ever, with all the ai tools and 26262617 social media apps, u can literaly print money on demand

yes, there are still busness ventures that can be succssful, but the copy-paste tactics have become far more popular. IMO, being skilled at something plus addressing an actual problem will always triumph over trends.

Yes, there is money to be made, but where I am concerned, the era of easy money is long gone. thanks to ai, the bar for entry has been lowered, making niche more important than ever before.

Yeah, people are still making good money, but my opinion is that the era of duplicating an oversaturated model and seeing results instanly has ended. A useful skill and a particlar niche can work even without having much money.

certainly, there are plenty of chances to earn online, but I am sure that the days of simple copying and pasting have ended for gud. There are wonderful chances to earn some decent money utilizing one’s skill nd finding one’s niche.

IMO, people are still earning big bucks, but the days of earning easy money are over ,You have to have something to offer, patience, and a strategy that you will be able to follow through.

Yes people are making money

easy money era is mostly gone, you need either a genuine angle that differentiates you or enough patience to outwork people in a niche most aren’t willing to grind through.

Indeed, there are profits to be made but in my opinion the important thing now is the competence or the specialization, not the prevailing business model. Yes, there is more competition but there are also more option.

I think there's never been more money in this segment, and it's still growing. You just have to find the area where you want to work and make money.

The real answer is almost nobody makes money offline these days. More internet use, more customers, more opened up markets even.
