It might be due to a Chrome extension/shortcut conflict. You should try Incognito mode first, and then disable extensions one by one. If that solves the problem, then you will have your answer.

could be an extension conflict like mentioned. I had also check chrome settings, try a fresh profile nd see if the key work there before reinstalling anything.
