AI Detectors - Just how bothered are you?

Been doing some work on writing ebooks for KDP all with AI and the subject of AI Detectors keeps coming up.

I have zero confidence in these online detectors that give a percentage score especially when I know where the work comes from.

I find that having emerged myself in AI writing the tells are clearer than a detector might show.

For those that do AI content aare you bothered by these scores?

I completely agree with you. I don't pay attention to those detector scores at all. Most of them are basically random number generators, and they flag completely original human writing all the time anyway.

When it comes to KDP, Amazon cares about whether the book gives readers a good experience, not what some arbitrary tool spits out. Like you said, the real focus should be on editing out those obvious AI phrases and robotic structures. Once you've read enough of this stuff, you start learning exactly what to look for and how to fix it.

As long as the final product reads naturally and actually gives the reader what they paid for, the detector score is basically irrelevant. I just focus on heavy editing and making sure the text is genuinely useful.

I do not pay much attention to the scores because different detectors often give completely different results I think the overall quality and usefulness of the content matters much more than what a detector says

I have found using a stylometry file really helps with with AI sounding natural although it doesn’t take away off the isms

Doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I stopped paying attention to those scores a while ago. if a piece reads naturally and people engage with it, that what matters to me. most detectors can not even agree with each other.

I noticed this as well. One said 17% and the other nearly 100%.

What I have noticed is that well edited work shows up as AI more than normal writing

They don't bother me at all, because I always humanize AI content myself for my websites.

as long as the AI content can be edited enough to make it sound natural and removal of obvious formatting errors, Amazon will be least bothered. Also, no point in checking on these AI detection tools.

Is not important that score most tools that give an ai detector score detect many things as not original anyway but what amazon want to see is sales and the customer experience is good not an ai detector score so if you got good content i dont see a way they will reject your content

Always use rephrase tools and synonymous of the words and Grammarly tool too to change the sentence to avoid detect ai.

Not bothered at all tbh — those %-score detectors are statistically unreliable garbage n Amazon KDP doesn't even use em for enforcement, they go off disclosure/quality signals n reader reports instead, so obsessin over a random tool's score is wasted energy, focus on makin the content actually good/useful instea
