Reddit Moderating "High Activity Communities" Has a Limit per Profile?

Has there always been a limit on accounts that states you cannot moderate more than 5 high activity subreddits?

I just saw this on my account through the App but never saw this before when working online via browser

I never glanced at certain settings and just happened to do something for the first time today and noticed it.

From what I've seen, Reddit does have some limits for moderating high-activity communities, and they can change over time. If you'r e seeing that message only in the app, it may be part of a newer feature or restriction.

Why is there a restriction like this though? I mean if you moderate a lot of high activity communities, aren't you bringing more value to other Reddit members?

Not always, no, this is recent and now fully enforced as of the end of March. The rule is five high traffic communities per account, where high traffic means over 100,000 weekly visitors, and of those five only one may be over a million weekly visitors. There are two details that catch people reading it for the first time. A community does not start counting until it has been consistently over 100k for 80 of the last 90 days, so a sub that spikes does not immediately eat a slot. And anything under 100k weekly visitors does not count at all, so the number of smaller communities you can moderate is still unlimited.

That's pretty fair.

I have 30 subs right now with at least 5 that have potential to all hit these limits over time but right now....I'm Good.
