Welcome to the club! I also work continuously but I try to give myself some rest time as well. I also am about the same age as you. Most days I’m working, driving or thinking about bills. Tonight I stood on a deck with the Opera House behind me and did absolutely nothing useful for five minutes. Felt strange. Felt good. Maybe rest isn’t wasted time after all. Bloody hell, only took me 35 years to notice.View attachment 537482
i think a lot of us need that reminder. we are so used to measuriing each minute by how productive it is, stopping can feel strange. But it is often those quiet moments that help us recharge nd appreciate everything we have been too busy to notice. five minutes of doing nothing is not wasted time it is an investment in ursellf. Most days I’m working, driving or thinking about bills. I completely agree with your point, the purpose of earning money is to live a better life, yet we have become slaves to money. Most of us are caught up in the cycle of making money, without even a little time for ourselves. It's worth reflecting on this sometimes, taking a break allows us to have a better state of mind to make the right decisions.
