.WEB finally looks like it is moving forward after a $135 million auction and almost 10 years of disputes.

Launch date and pricing are still unknown.

For SEO, affiliate, or startup projects, would you consider building on a good .WEB domain?

Or will it need very low pricing and strong adoption before it matters?

Meh. It might be nice for some niche domains (charlottes[.]web will be a perfect domain for the right company), but for my main properties I tend to go with domains people can still remember an hour after seeing it, which is virtually always com/net/org.

If it's cheap enough I might grab a few to experiment, but I doubt I'd use it for anything serious.

That such a good website idea! I forgot about that book, a classic.

Verisign shelled out 135m for it so registry pricing is probably going to be steep at launch. i don't see it replacing .com for serious projects anytime soon because of the trust and ctr issues with newer gtlds. might be decent for PBNs or quick affiliate landers if they end up being cheap, but yeah... probably going to be overhyped and overpriced at start. @Stavro is right about stickiness, average searchers still type .com out of habit.

Its useless, its PEOPLE, its people already changed the behaviors, people almost don't use websites anymore, they only open social medias and AI apps.
