They are dirt cheap but they annoy me so much!
I removed a few lines of this convo but basically I am hiring classified ad leads and she wanted me to buy the PVAs. Read the end! :D

[8:56:46 PM]
[8:58:49 PM] Macdonjo: please ask any questions if you have any
[8:59:03 PM] Cherry: you suggest that we post on Craiglist
[8:59:28 PM] Cherry: are you going to provide us the PVA's?
[9:03:00 PM] Cherry: are you still there?
[9:05:06 PM] Macdonjo: yes
[9:05:11 PM] Macdonjo: no i wont be
[9:05:23 PM] Macdonjo: Like I said, I am buying the leads.
[9:05:26 PM] Cherry: I know very well to post on CL
[9:05:36 PM] Cherry: but I dont have PVAs
[9:05:38 PM] Macdonjo: CL and Kijiji.
[9:05:44 PM] Macdonjo: Well that could be a problem.
[9:07:03 PM] Cherry: phone verified accounts are not stable
[9:07:15 PM] Cherry: I bought it one time, we was stolen from me
[9:07:37 PM] Cherry: I dont know with Kijiji if they verify the phone
[9:08:39 PM] Macdonjo: they seem stable when I tried a few
[9:08:53 PM] Macdonjo: I forgot all the usernames and passwords for them as I only paid like $10 for them
[9:09:18 PM] Cherry: I bought but after 3 months it was stolen from me
[9:09:26 PM] Cherry: how about your account?
[9:09:45 PM] Cherry: I guess that's it. the username and pass is invalid
[9:09:45 PM] Macdonjo: 3 months is a long time, i like to get a week or 2 out of mine.
[9:10:04 PM] Macdonjo: Buy about 100 for $300, post 100 ads every 48 hours. Post for 2 weeks, change it up.
[9:10:20 PM] Cherry: hehehhehe
[9:10:24 PM] Cherry: I dont have that money
[9:10:27 PM] Cherry: hehehehehe
[9:11:41 PM] Macdonjo: Well, if you post enough, you should. I was expecting someone to come along that is experienced and wanted to profit a few hundred dollars a day. I was hoping they had around 20-50 accounts to post on.
[9:12:11 PM] Cherry: how can we earn?
[9:12:20 PM] Cherry: what is your process?
[9:13:38 PM] Macdonjo: What, of how I make money?
[9:14:11 PM] Cherry: I mean if we get leads we will transfer it to you?
[9:14:25 PM] Cherry: we will just give you the info?
[9:14:25 PM] Macdonjo: Yes, forward the emails to me.
[9:14:33 PM] Cherry: okay
[9:14:42 PM] Macdonjo: If I make a sale, I will send back 10%
[9:14:45 PM] Cherry: and then how we will know that it was closed?
[9:14:55 PM] Macdonjo: I will tell you.
[9:18:06 PM] Cherry: ok
[9:18:14 PM] Cherry: hmmm
[9:18:22 PM] Cherry: we'll see
[9:18:29 PM] Cherry: I will let you knpw
[9:18:33 PM] Macdonjo: k

Freelancers from india don't have the resources to keep putting $1000s into PVA solutions for the hope someone will hire them. Why would they?. How do you think they would get the initial funds to start with? Thats 2 years wages there for them.

Haha man! Don't worry .. you'll find someone better sooner or later :p
I'd say try oDesk. I currently have 2 writers working for $1/hour and they're Awesome!

This reminds me of when I had hired a graphic designer for my weight loss website, and he was doing what he wanted to do.

So he thought the outline of the site should be purple, and that's what he made it, then I asked him to change it to orange, and he would say "Dude purple is better".

I was paying him to do the work and he was doing what he wanted.

Lesson learned: Don't hire people with no ratings on elance or odesk.

I agree, there are so many lemons on Odesk and elance that it is like finding a needle in a haystack

Just sounds like someone with very bad english again ;)

..Again... :P

I understand, so CL posting from them isn't the way to go. :P

She was from oDesk and $1/hour is cheap! :) Thats $0.25 per article.

That is halarious. Most of them agree to paying at the end of a job.

We will see. :)

that was hilarious man, especially the end when he doesn't know what is a publisher: "--Cherry visits the urban dictionary--" LMAO
and they're doing good with insurance...hard to believe :)

Outsourced help can be a total pain but it's the cost of doing business. I like to create a bunch of notepad files that address as many common situations I run into with my freelancers as possible. That way I don't have to tie up my time by getting on AIM and typing out the same shit over and over to people. I just copy n paste most of my interaction with them.

I say the opposite - Hire ONLY people who have no rating in odesk.
90% of odesk's ratings are fake, abused and crap.

+ Those who are starting on oDesk and have no hours, are 10 times more willing to do what you want and appreciate every second they bill you.

You need to know how to screen them efficiently. I once thought I found the PERFECT VA. over 20 positive reviews, English was great.
Then we started bureaucracy.. One of the things I asked, was to sign a NDA.
I even have a video + PDF guide I created to help them do this (not that it's anything complex).

6 times back and forth / 2 hours of my time trying to help her fill in (properly) her full name, address and date. When she finally made it right - She emailed me the wrong PDF and went to sleep.

That was one of the "REPUTABLE" VA's in odesk. Absolute garbage.
