OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman Trolls Anthropic’s New Ad

Anthropic is known for its creative marketing, but their most recent advertisement is creeping people out. Titled “There’s hope in hard questions,” the company’s latest ad has been unsettling viewers with its weird imagery and doomer-ist tone.

Anthropic has consistently attempted to depict itself as the ethical foil to other AI companies. This latest marketing stunt leans into criticism of AI as a way to make Anthropic seem aware of (and therefore distinctly worthy of) the responsibility it carries.

The CEO of OpenAI, Anthropic’s chief rival, Sam Altman posted on X, “i thought this was satire, kept looking for the handle to be spelled c1audeai or something.”

Many people started calling out the weird & sinister tone and unsettling images, particularly the cemetery image that appears in the ad.

OpenAI is rapidly going under, not in spite of but thanks to Sam Altman's efforts. Now, this guy is pushing for an IPO, hoping to turn things around, but it's too late.

If you look at the results of the most recent models the Chinese are probably going to be leading soon and they don’t even have the best chips.

It's projected to be profitable in 2028. They're currently getting profits but reinvesting everything into research & development.

I dont know, but it's AI is pretty good compare to chatgpt.

Anthropic targeted a market segment and became go-to AI tool for programmers. OpenAI wanted to eat everything at once and is struggling at everything. There are better tools for everything chatgpt can do like claude for coding, nanobanana for image generation, perplexity/deepseek/Gemini for research, etc. There is cutthroat competition in AI tools and they're too slow. Most people are not happy with their updates. Google is also pushing Gemini into everything.

I thought it was pretty good. The video gives off a dramatic theme, which fits with the general mood of artificial intelligence at the moment. We are witnessing and going through one of the most transformational periods history. Nobody knows what's going to happen to the human race. There is so many directions we can take this technology.

Some think it will destroy the world, others think it will be our savior. I'm of the belief the truth lies somewhere in the middle; but, it's transforming things at such a breakneck speed that it's like nothing we've ever experienced. I have no idea how it will turn out. I can see either side coming to fruition given the right circumstances.

And, to make things more interesting, these artificial intelligence companies are interacting with their user base, taking suggestions, and implementing things that their userbase has thought of. This is unlike any other foundational technology, which is usually developed behind closed doors and given to the public once the product is nearly finished and the direction has been decided.

Which way will we drive this rocket ship? It's up to every one of us to decide.

Claude generate far better ai articles than chatgpt. While chatgpt refuses to Generate articles and says it's keyword stuffing, or link stuffing. It had become a lazy ai.

I think the ad is pretty cool, they are just being more honest about the seriousness of the situation, Altman can take some notes
