Hello

I have recently started seo-ing my relatively new site... PR 0 and backlinks to domain = 159

So far I have paid for a 2000 directory submission service and got 1500 xrumer service too. I have also been building blog comment links up manually.

The company ranking #1 in google for my local keyword has a PR of 3 and has 2,410 Backlinks to the domain (according to MS).

How can I beat this b*stard!?!??! lol

Same way you beat any competitor:

Mo' better on page SEO, mo' better backlinks and time.

You may need some higher quality backlinks than what you're getting though.

OK. I am currently working on the onpage stuff and am confident that it will be right in the next couple of weeks.

What do you suggest to be a good link building strategy... is what I have done ok for a start?

Sure that's a good start. You might want to build a couple other properties to link from (WPMU blog, web 2 sites, etc.), and/or maybe some article marketing.

honestly you question should be: where can i learn basic seo. The right answer is that there is no "cookbook recipe", each case is a case.

Be sure your keywords are on the text of the pages you are trying to boost, there needs to be enough of them mixed in other text to make it look like a subject, not just keyword stuffing. Also don't forget the <h1> tag for the main subject of the page, this helped me a ton...

BUT, one question I got still is the dir submission. I had 3000 done but not one has been indexed yet...? why is this? how long does it take on average?

anyone else have BAD luck with dirs?
