There is an interesting person online I found out about and would like to discuss various topics with them. It is unrelated to the hacking, they just happen to be hackers and written various books on the subject so seem to have high credentials as hacker/pen tester.

I am worried though if I got on their bad side they could own my soul?

No reason to think that right now but you never know when things can go awry and seemed they would hold some unique keys over you?

Worth the risk to contact or stay away? I do have a lot of stuff I would like to discuss with them or else I would not bother writing this post.

You're overthinking it. Someone won't magically take over your whole life simply because you exchanged a few messages with them.

Contact them through known usernames/addresses on established public channels. Don't download anything they send, click unfamiliar links, grant remote access, or share identifying information like domains or usernames.

Unless you give them a reason and an opportunity to target you, they probably have better things to do.

Thanks, I thought that just having a real email address of mine they might be able to social engineer their way to full access to all my accounts? couldn't they just crack everything with just one real contact address and also they would have my ip address?

I used to know a guy on discrod who was a 'script kiddie' type and would show off he could shut down anyone's ISP with DDOSing or suchlike just by knowing their IP.

Yes this is something I thought. Maybe they can but no particular reason why they would have the inclination and I know they have contact with many other people online and I guess/presume they aren't hacking all them. :) Also it seems they are more of the ethical hacker/hacktivist type so one would hope that would play into it too.
