Unfortunately, the problem has been going on for over a week, and I haven't received the answer I need in other threads.

When I try to post something, I get a red message. Then I go into the app and enter my country's phone number, but an error appears "Something went wrong. Please try again later".

What I tried to fix this:
- I waited about a week. Maybe I should wait longer? I haven't spammed anything. My page has been active since September 2025. I've only posted a few times on my wall and in groups.
- I enabled two-factor authentication.
- I added my real phone number from another country to the Account Center, but that didn't work either.
- I checked the page and profile status everywhere possible. Everything is fine, no errors or notifications. I'm also the only page administrator.
- I found Facebook and Meta email addresses and tried contacting them there. I filed several bug reports through a browser and phone. So far, no response or fixes.
I don't have the means or desire to buy Meta Verified. This social network isn't worth a cent.

The only thing that worked was entering a US phone number +1. It looks like I'll have to buy a virtual number to continue posting.

But I'd like you to share your real-life experience with this issue. Maybe you solved it differently? I want to enter my actual phone number so Facebook doesn't save a temporary virtual number somewhere that I'll no longer have access to.

If the account was actually restricted, ı wouldnt expect a US number to work either feels more like facebook is failing to verify certain numbers than blocking your account.

Have you checked if the number itself is supported by meta's verification system? sometimes the issue is with the carrier or region not the account.

Seems more like a verification issue than an account issue the phone number or carrier could be the main problem.

I tried several of my own numbers and the numbers of friends (they are not on Facebook) from my country. Then I tried my number from another country. It didn't work.

I decided to try several countries from Europe, Asia, and Africa and enter random numbers from the Internet just to see if there would be an error. And there was. But for the US, the code is sent and the following screen appears where I have to enter it.

My numbers are 100% supported, they are in the Account Center, verified, and receive SMS messages from Facebook.

I have verified numbers from the Account Center, as I mentioned above. And Facebook SMS messages reach them. I found a bunch of threads on Reddit and Facebook itself about this error, and people can't solve it. In one thread here, a person from Nigeria said a virtual US number worked for him. I also get the following code entry screen when I enter a US number.

There should be another way to verify instead of using phone number.

Did you read what I wrote? Did you see the screenshot? There's no other way! Or maybe you could tell me where it is?

Sounds like Facebook's system is flagging your number's region specifically try the Meta Business Help Center chat not email since it's usually faster for phone verification issues, and avoid re-triggering the check by not switching numbers again until support responds.

Unfortunately, I don't see how to contact support through Meta Business Help Center. Maybe because I don't use ads.

some of my friends get the same problem, you can try with some other phone numbers of US/VN. Some accounts need 2 days for him to fix.

That makes it sound less like a carrier problem and more like a region specific verification issue. If multiple people are seeing the same behavior its probably happening on metas side rather than yours.

Then its probably not a basic verification issue it might be something deeper on metas side like an account level restriction or a temporary system issue.

After reading your account, I suspect the issue isn't with the account itself but stems from a Facebook verification error or a problem with your mobile carrier. You could contact support and ask them to resolve the issue for you as soon as possible.

The error still persisted and wouldn't accept any numbers. I bought a virtual US number from T Mobile and received SMS messages. Now I can post on my page again.

The "Something went wrong" error when entering a local phone number usually happens because your IP geolocation doesn't match the country code of the phone number you're trying to add. Since Meta detected "unusual activity," your network environment is already under security check.

If you want to use your real phone number instead of temporary virtual numbers, try this:

  1. Connect to a high-quality residential/ISP proxy located in your actual country (matching your real phone number).
  2. Clear app cache/cookies or use an anti-detect browser, then wait 24–48 hours before requesting the SMS code again.
  3. If it still fails, complete identity verification by uploading an ID via web browser rather than pushing through the mobile app loop.

If you just need to get past the verification, you could try a temporary US number from felixmerchant. It seems to work for this kind of verification issue. You can always switch back to your real number later if Facebook lets you.
