You ever see a method get hyped like it’s basically free money, then once you try it you realize everybody left out the annoying part? Dropshipping sounds easy until the supplier ruins your week. Lead gen sounds easy until the client blames you for every bad call. Paid ads sound easy until you burn money testing angles that go nowhere. SEO sounds easy until one update wipes out months of work. Crypto sounds easy until you’re exit liquidity. AI SaaS sounds easy until you realize people don’t pay for “ChatGPT but with a different logo.”

The pitch is always simple:

find offer
get traffic
make money

Reality is usually:

support tickets
refunds
chargebacks
bans
payment holds
bad clients
bad margins
random platform changes

For anyone who actually tried one of these “easy money” methods…

What was the part nobody warned you about?

"easy" is relative. if you got a lot of skills, some methods seem extremely easy. if you have no skills, even the most uncomplicated things seem difficult.

usually i would say methods that require a lot of upfront costs, research, etc. but are sold as get rich quick or easy money scheme (for example Amazon FBA) are bullshit.

everything else you mentioned: customer support, platform changes, payment provider issues, etc. cant be avoided.

even if you have an offline business you cant avoid these things

Sounds like an average day in my offline brick-and-mortar company.

Finding clients and making sales is the easy part, dealing with the overhead is why so many businesses fail.

faceless youtube automation for me. sold as passive set-and-forget, reality was a full time content job, scriptwriter voiceover editor and thumbnail guy all unpaid and all me. then one copyright strike wipes the channel you spent 4 months building. the passive part is a myth, you just become an underpaid media company.

Crypto trading signals. 'Just copy my trades, easy 2x a week.' Made money once, lost it three times over trying to chase the next signal. Turns out you're just the exit liquidity for whoever runs the group.

can be mostly fully automated with workflow tools like n8n. i am running this right now on 20+ different accounts across tikTok, youtube and ig. 20 videos daily, fully created and posted on autopilot.

fair, at 20 accounts x 20 a day the account itself becomes disposable, so a strike is just churn not a catastrophe. thats the part i was doing wrong, protecting one channel like it was precious instead of farming them. hows the monetization at that volume, adsense on the ones that survive or are you funneling the views somewhere?

Dropshipping. The pitch was "find a product, run ads, wake up rich." Reality? Got sales, then got buried in "where's my order?" emails, tracking that never updated, chargeback threats, and AliExpress support saying "dear friend we check." Spent more time putting out fires than selling. Closed it in two months with a net loss and a new hatred for customer service. The "easy money" part was a lie - it's just a customer support nightmare with extra steps.

TikTok shop affiliate. Worked until it didn't then they ask for more and more. Not for me

Haven't tried that yet, verification on things is normal though if payouts are being made

PayPal money generator, according to youtube gurus I'd made $1m per day, in the end I'm making only $1000, frustrating

Affiliate marketing.

It's sold as an easy way to make money but damn a lot goes into it.

It's not BS it's just extremely harder than they make it out to be.

Not a business itself, but promoting stuff in adult niche sites. Even if your offer is aligned with the site itself, it's not like i read a lot that you just needed to create any ad on canva, upload on adult niche site and collect money. It needs waaaaay more than that.

Do you have a guide on how to set this up?

"Spitting facts. The 'ChatGPT with a different logo' part is so painfully true right now. Everyone thinks it's easy money until they hit the first Google update or Stripe hold

My friend, the topic of discussion is basically saying it didn't work for them <3

So if you set it up, don't take his advice lol. <3

For me it was dropshipping. Everyone talks about finding a winning product but nobody mentions dealing with supplier issues, refunds and angry customers. Selling is the easy part, running the business is where it gets real.

Agreed, honestly the only way to do that is buy in bulk from the suppliers and ship yourself

crypto trading this was one of the things i wasted so much time on with so little results.

i will maybe create a thread on it someday.

I recommend AI when it comes to this. Conservative AI trading for Crypto
