The real question isn't whether we're over-automating, it's whether people are automating the wrong shit. I've seen guys spend two weeks building a bot to post tweets when their offer is broken, and I've also run an entire agency on autopilot because I automated the stuff that actually repeats 500 times a day—so yeah, it depends if you're lazy or just efficient.

I mean, if you have the resources for it and it makes sense for how you operate, then sure, automate away. I can't say I completely share the sentiment, though. Still looks to me like most people automate either out of necessity or because. Sure, there are always people who overdo it, but nothing really of particular note.
But right enough, some tasks are better of done manually like making connections for one.

Ive automated my hentai chrome tabs so that every time my PC is turned on it auto loads one of my favourite scenes.

The dficult part is the use of technlogy to automate tasks which involve human discretion. Leverage technology to do the mechanical tasks, enabling yourself to plan and make decisions. Automating the discretion aspect only increses the likelihood of underperformng.

Certainly, especially in anything requiring judgments. While AI works perfectly in research and repetitive activities, strategic thinking, networking, and decision-making are areas where a human input is much more effective..
