Is your page rank important? I never found it to help in anyways ... especially SE rankings. If it's not that important, why we all have to find High PR sites for backlinking?

It is really important mate, specially when we are doing the link exchange negotiation. Webmasters will look at it and evaluate on it, but it depends on the category of your website.

I've seen website with PR0 outrank other sites with PR4 on the SE. I think it's more about domain authority and trust rank too?

If u talk in context of google

u should focus on Page Rank

High PR means more google love ur site

I think you can out rank them in specific keywords only but overall they beat your site hand down. Think about it as a fight between small weak guy and a kungfu master. You might have sharper teeth to bite harder(your keyword here) but he will win in a fair fight. Sneak attack is your strength.

I have a PR0 site outranking all the big boys for 50-100,000,000 result searches.
It is a factor but not as big as it once was.
