There are so many metrics to track like followers, reach, likes and engagement.
Was there one metric that completely changed how you approach social media?

For me it was realizing that shares and saves mattered more than follower count.

Many social media platforms are moving away slowly from relying on followers alone. While, your posts would initially be shown to your followers, it's usually not all. Just a handful, the engagement the post gets from those would determine how far it'll go and be recommended to others.

shares and saves are the real indicators of value since followers are just vanity
Followers look nice but shares and saves tell you people actually found the content worth keeping or showing to someone else

Exactly. If your content gets strong engagement early, it can reach way beyond your existing audience.

For me, it was engagement and the quality of comments. No doubt, follower count and likes can look good, but real discussions tell me whether people actually connect with the content.
That's why I now focus more on creating posts that encourage conversations rather than just getting likes.

how many actual inquiries and how many actually leads to a sale. this can be very different from shares and likes and watch. this is information that people use to make a purchase, not be entertained or engaged

before people can share or save is when they find it usefull but followers count too and important for deals

It is the metric that changed my strategy not likes, or following but the length of time that the person spends watching my vdos . There were some cases where people had invested more time than usual and did not engage in a high rate. This made me change my strategy and focus on creating content that would engage people.
