Info product business idea - seeking opinion

Hello,

I need your honest opinion on an idea.

I've been thinking about building a business around selling digital products (e-books, courses, or mentoring) but using a classic "fake it till you make it" marketing approach.

The idea is pretty simple:

• Rent a sports car for a day.
• Film as much content as possible in those 24 hours (ads, reels, short-form videos, lifestyle clips, etc)
• Build a simple landing page and funnel for an e-book, course, or mentoring offer.
• Run paid ads to that funnel.
• Sell a product around something like: "How to make $20k/month selling digital products."

I'm not asking whether it's ethical or not - I know that's a separate discussion. I'm more interested in the business side of it.

Do you think this model can actually work in 2026, or is the market too saturated? If you were going to test something like this, how would you approach it? What would you do differently to give it the best chance of succeeding?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who've built info products or run paid ads.

Its ethical yes. I don't think there is a law about talking shit. Which your topic will basically be. Your going to join the long list of broke influencers that shoot above their weight, in search of fame and riches.
There are lots of methods you can choose to get started online, trying to deceive yourself and others is not a fun or interesting (or even profitable?) way to do it.

I had an ebook that I was selling, and i made it in a month with ai, and although it had full editorial oversight and rephrasing, i thought i would prefer to take it down, as it was shit looking back. I don't want to be telling people on bhw to avoid ai for writing, when one of my books is written with just ai.
I tasked myself with writing 100 fiction books, in 5 years, which is what i would rather have, compared to ai alop, as I can build my own world lore with that, and write something comedic, like sort of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy comedy and strangeness for each one.

My point is, you obviously REALLY know nothing about making money, since your trying this, and do you not have something that you have a skill at that people get paid to learn and do? Something better that for real you can do, and have regular content, if you're really interested in that sort of thing?

Although, also, when you talk about run ads to funnel, you are daft as your thinking that those ads will be profitable first time you use them, and your budget won't be eaten by bots. So there is lots of things that you can't just "sticky plaster solution".

Try all the steps though. The simple rules are first make $1, then see if its possible to get to $10, then decide if you can be overall profitable and reach $100. Then you can aggressively increase things, and aim for $1k, and so on. You'll learn just how easy it is, compared with how you thought at worst! lol

It'd probably work, but you need to test a lot. It's not gonna be cheap operation and fast money.

Look, I'll be honest with you – this *might* work in 2026, but not the way you're describing it. The "rent a Lamborghini and rent it all in one day" gimmick is so overused that many will immediately notice. The market isn't necessarily saturated, but the *audience* is much more skeptical than it was five years ago. They've already seen that movie.

If I were testing this, here's what I'd do differently. First, I wouldn't make the car the centerpiece of the entire pitch – I'd use it as a hook to grab attention, but the core of the ad should be real value or a unique angle that shows I know my stuff. People might click for the hype, but they'll only buy if they believe I can actually help them. Second, I'd test the offer *before* renting anything. Run a cheap ad on a simple landing page with a low-priced product ($7-$17) and see if anyone is interested. If no one buys it, they certainly won't buy a $500 course. Save money upfront.

So yes, I think this model *could* work, but the "rent for a day and hope" approach is unlikely. Treat it like a real business with real value, test on small platforms, measure everything, and be prepared to adapt. I'd be interested to see how it goes if you launch this—good luck, man!

Yes, you right, it's definitely better to - first try this idea without investing money into renting a car and try this idea with small budget before investing more into marketing. Thanks for you suggestion, it definitely helps me to decide what I should do in this scenario.

It’s working. There are AI gurus who sell mentorship for AI OFM who are charging people for 1-3k $ in exchange of daily mentorship.
They are all using the same strategy: Dubai or Marbella as location, rented Lambos, expensive watches like Rolex, AP, pools, restaurants dishes and so on.
The payment always upfront.
The services - poor, to be kind.

I know all of these because I’m monetizing AI girls for more than 2 years and from the end of the last year I started to build a team.
I have team members who paid a lot of money for mentorship and they told me about those guys. I saw their guides and there are basic stuff. So yeah, this strategy where you’re exposing a luxury life work pretty well.
