What's wrong with my channel?

Hey guys,

So I just started a new channel about a niche that I know that it is getting views.
I am trying to post videos everday, videos are like 30m.
But somehow first hours is disaster, I am not getting any attention.
Also here is my impressions, what do you think about this?

What am I doing wrong? Is it about thumbnails or titles?

daily 30m videos are killing your retention and cpm, fix the length and thumbnails

What is your suggestions? Should I upload 2-3 30m video on week?
Or should I keep updating daily not on 30m video but for 10m?
I'll change thumbnails for sure thanks for advices.

As with everything give it time, Make sure you are not posting recycled or pirated contents.. And stick to one niche and see the results!

If you are doing all right. Good video title, description, tags, shorts and publish time + Good Thumbnail.
In theory, everything works well, but in reality, nothing actually takes off.

I think people check the thumbnail first, then the title.
If the thumbnail looks good, then they watch the video...

How many videos you have already uploaded? Is every video getting the same results?

Yeah thumbnail is first one that gets people's attentions.
I uploaded 6 videos with 8 days.
This week I am uploading one video everyday but somehow I am killing impressions.
First 3 videos got attention. Other 6 is sits with 0 views.

Check if you can make automatically 16 seconds shorts videos from those long videos.
Maybe use some AI, what does this automatically... This way, you may get views for the longer videos if they are interested.

Early views are usually slow for new channels. I’d look at your thumbnail and title first, since they drive clicks. If your CTR is low, improve those. If CTR is good but watch time is low, focus on making the first minute more engaging.

Sometimes the content isn't the main problem Things like titles thumbnails and understanding what your audience wants can have a big impact I'd also compare your recent videos with the ones that performed best

I face the same loophole and I think indeed it mostly rely on luck : they claimed in may 2026 the biggest change of the algo for 20+ years but in reality it’s hard to see the difference. I personally found an almost unexploited niche, only one Guy has video on that particular subject, 5+ year old vidéos, not great content (I mean even in 2017 his content had looked dated). Still this Guy gets more than 1M views per year, plus probably additional sales on digital products. Given the lenght of the content I think he has around $3.5 to $5 RPM. Anyway, not the biggest niche on YouTube in terms of revenue, almost no competition but still, it’s nearly impossible to get ranked because the algo keeps pushing my content as « suggested video » but it does absolutely not match my type of content, this is not entertainment content this is answers to actual user problems (like this is supposingly matching the new ASO engine…) the net result is that I have a shitty ctr but of course I do, this is not related to the quality of the thumbnails, this is related to the fact that no one gives a shit about this video unless he/she faces the corresponding problem. Anyway I miss the good all Time Where YouTube used to rank your video a short amount of Time to decide if you content is Better than you compétition…

i don't recommend changing your approach, there is an audience of normal people still watching long videos, everyday i'm working while I listen to 30m - 2h videos, you don't need to screw everything and become another loser spamming 15s shorts with a bunch of sound effects, this is too saturated

Early performance can be slow on a new channel so I would not judge it by the first few hours I would look closely at click through rate and audience retention because thumbnails and titles affect clicks while the content determines whether YouTube keeps recommending the video

You need to be consistent on a channel for minimum 2 months with atleast 10-15 videos of uploaded, and then if it is still the same you can think of changing the content, channel etc.

For newly created channels, it's very common for videos to have few views in the first few hours. The main reasons are usually posting too frequently (one 30-minute video every day can easily reduce quality) and YouTube not having had time to understand your content and recommend it.

A new channel usually needs time before YouTube starts testing it with larger audiences I would check your click through rate audience retention and the first minute of each video If those are strong keep publishing and keep improving your thumbnails and titles rather than worrying about the first few hours

I think your videos are too long for a brand new channel. Nobody wants to commit to a 30-minute video from a creator they do not know yet. Try making 5 to 10-minute videos first to build trust and get people to click.

It’s natural for a new channel to have lower impressions, especially for videos that are long in duration. It’s common for YouTube to test videos with a smaller audience, therefore, concentrate on CTR and retentio

A 6% CTR is okay, but an 8-minute retention on a 30-minute video kills your reach. Make 10-minute videos instead of 30, post 2–3 times a week, and give the algorithm time to find your audience.
