Hey guys, I have a few websites that are doing conversations & I'm currently using Google analytics for my analytics. But since the GA4 got switched from the Google universal analytics I find it super hard and confusing to use. So I tried to research a few Google analytics alternatives.
Does anyone have any experience with Google analytics alternatives?

Hey man, I feel your pain GA4 is a nightmare compared to the old Universal Analytics. The interface sucks and the learning curve is steep if you just want simple conversion tracking.
I switched most of my sites and here’s what’s worked well for me:
Matomo formerly Piwik self-hosted option, very close to the old GA feel. Good privacy, no data limits, and the reports are way easier to read. I run it on my own server.
Plausible super lightweight and simple. If you don’t need super deep data, this is clean and fast. A lot of people in affiliate/marketing are moving to it.
Fathom or Pirate Metrics also privacy-focused and straightforward dashboards.
For conversion tracking specifically especially if you're running paid traffic, I’ve been using Hyros on a couple of sites and it’s been strong for attribution. A bit more expensive but worth it if revenue tracking is important.
What kind of volume are you doing and what’s most important to you — simplicity, cost, or detailed attribution? I can give more specific recs.

i've tried a couple of alternatives and some are much easier to navigate than ga4.
depends whether you need deep reporting or just clear, actionable stats.

Yeah GA4 is a total mess, feels like they built it to hide data from us tbh. If you are running any kind of affiliate or landers, you probably want to avoid Google anyway because of the footprint. @CLOAKER ADAM mentioned Matomo which is decent if you self host... but if you just need simple conversion tracking and want to see where traffic is coming from, maybe look at something like BeMob. it is an actual tracker rather than just "analytics" and you wont get your accounts flagged for weird redirects. Otherwise, Plausible is clean if you just want basic stats.

if you just want to see what people are doing without the ga4 headache, try microsoft clarity. it's free and the session recordings actually show you where people get stuck. for raw numbers and conversion tracking, i just use cloudflare web analytics nowadays for basic stuff, or a simple postback script if its affiliate offers. ga4 is bloated garbage anyway, feels like they built it for enterprise teams with full time analysts.

Is it like an alternative frontend for GA4 or is it complete tracking suite? If so, is it as good as GA4 because GA4 supports a lot of integrations from third-party platforms and completely free
