Hey there,

How do you measure the feedback on your information / educational email campaign? Meaning after sending a campaign, do you measure how much your audience like or dislike the contant they received?

I don't know if there's a way to measure such metrics without asking your audience directly.

What you can do is setup Postmasters Tools and monitor metrics like Spam compliant rate, unsubscribe rate, click-through rate, open rate, etc. to guess the feedback on your information/education email campaigns

If people are opening the email, clicking the links and not unsubscribing then it is a good sign that the content is useful.

For like or dislike specifically, the cleanest read is a one-click feedback link at the bottom of each email, a thumbs up or down or a "was this helpful?" button where each option is its own tracked URL. That gives you direct sentiment on educational content without guessing. Opens are basically noise now since Apple inflates them, so I'd ignore those as a "like" signal.

Beyond that, watch the signals that actually mean something: click-through on the content itself, reply rate and what those replies say (for educational sends, replies and questions are the strongest sign it landed), plus the negative side, unsubscribes and spam complaints per send. Track it per segment and per email across the sequence, not blended, so you can see which topics resonate and whether engagement is climbing or decaying send over send. If a specific email spikes replies and clicks, that's your audience telling you what they want more of.

Best,

Normally I like to keep track of my opens clicks replies and conversions.

Yeah opens are pretty much dead now because of apple privacy proxy. @floqal had a good point about replies though. If you want actual feedback that also helps your deliverability, try using a micro-commitment reply trigger. Instead of a feedback link, just end the email with "reply with YES if you want the PDF cheat sheet for this" or something similar. If they reply, they liked it. Plus it warms up your sending domain like nothing else.

Simple. How many clicks did the campaign generate, that’s all that matters in the end.

Click through and bounce rate basically. And of course, if people opening are following the links or giving feedback, that's other good indicators as well

I examine the click rate of the campaign.

It is important to understand whether the audience finds the information useful, relevant, and worth engaging with. i would say comparing campaign performance helps to identify what type of content, topics and formats the audience finds most valuable.

The best way to measure genuine feedback on educational emails is embedding a 1 click rating widget at the footer, while tracking reply rates and Click to Open Ratio rather than just relying on open or unsubscribe rates.
