Do you ever skip a question on Quora ?

Hello,

I came across a question today that had hundreds of answers already.

I knew I could probably write a better answer than the existing ones but I skip it because I don't think it was worth my efforts in answering there.

When you are choosing questions to answer do you prefer questions with lots of existing answers because they already have traffic or do you look for questions that have not received much attention yet ?

Want to know how others decide where to spend their time ?

I look for a balance. Questions with lots of answers had traffic already but the competition is high.

If I see a question with few quality answers then it worth more spending the time there.

Most of people write there to express their feelings. They are just normal people with offline jobs.

Majority of members here would be using it for promotion.

yeah, i'd skip the huge threads unless i can add a fresh angle. the sweet spot is usually questions with traffic but weak answers, because you can stand out without fighting hundreds of replies.

that is actually normal i do feel like that too sometime too but now dont pay as much attention to how many answers a question already has as I would to whether I can add something useful. There are times when answering a popular question is worth it if you can give a better view. But most of the time, answering questions that aren't being asked will give you more attention and less competition.

I also prefer new questions. the traffic may be lower at first, but being one of the first good answers pays off over time.

I look for opportunity more than traffic. A question with fewer answers generally gives me a better chance to build visibility than trying to compete with hundreds of existing replies.

Same approach. If a thread already has tons of answers, I only bother if I can bring a very different angle or real experience that isn’t already covered. Otherwise, I focus more on low-competition questions. Better chance your answer gets seen and actually adds value.

Yes, I do if a question already has hundreds of goods answers< i uaually look for one with less competition where I can add more value and have a better chance of getting visibility.

I generally prefer questions that still have room to grow. Being early has worked better for me than competing with hundreds of existing answers.
