backlinks before search engine submission

So I know that if you are already in the search engines and you are getting tons and tons of backlinks in a short period, that the SE might catch you and de-index you. But, what if you acquire all those back links before you submit your domain into the search engine. Would the search engine still know that you got all the backlinks in a day or whatnot and still not index you?

Also, are reciprocal links bad for SE rankings, or are they just the same as backlinks (one-way links)?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard of some BH'ers using xrumer to create tonnes of backlinks prior to being indexed and apparently they had some success. However, I guess there is no guarantees with anything.

Also, from what I've heard one-way links are preferred over reciprocal links as they are harder to obtain.

If the back links are any good you don't have to submit your domain into the

search engine

or engines

They will find you even if you block them all from your domain they will still see the anochor text on the page linking to your domain and know when it was put there

Also, are reciprocal links bad for SE rankings, or are they just the same as backlinks (one-way links)?

My understanding is one way links are best but also pay attention to outbound links

My (not so) educated guess is that if your site is not indexed prior to having a lot of backlinks, search engines can still catch you because they can check the date of the backlink additions by comparing when that backlink was added against previous caches of their spider runs.

The other reason is nowadays Google picks up on sites pretty fast - if they haven't found you yet and all of a sudden they index you but you have a ton of backlinks, it's going to look suspicious right off the bat, especially if this practice becomes common.

Lastly, why risk it? Go slow and steady and win the race.

there is absolutely no reason to submit your site to the major search engines anymore...if you have your site setup right they will find you, I've actually heard rumors that submitting google will actually hurt your ranking
