Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that more creators are paying attention to how often viewers add videos to their Favorites.
Do you think Favorites have become an important signal for TikTok's algorithm, or are metrics like watch time, shares, and comments still far more influential?
Would love to hear your experience.

In my tests, videos with high saves did not always blow up. On TikTok, retention was the real difference maker.

Favorites definitely help, but watch time and completion rate are still king for the algorithm. If people save your video it’s a good bonus sign, but without strong watch time it won’t push hard

Although Saves/Favorites are an indicator of high viewer interest (because they want to save it to watch or use in the future), core metrics such as watch time, shares, and comments still carry much greater weight in TikTok's algorithm.

Favorites help because they show people want to save the video and watch again. But watch time, shares, and comments still seem more powerful for getting better reach.

Creating healthy conversations or debates helps increase overall engagement, keeping viewers on the platform longer.

On TikTok watch time and shares are still the strongest signal but Favorites are slowly becoming more important for understanding user interest

favorites are a growing signal but watch time and shares still carry more importance overall.

Favorites can help to show people's interest and help the algorithm to suggest later video for them, and watch time, shares, like, comments is the most important things and the things that we have to pay attention

Favorites are likely a valuable signal because they show users want to come back to the content. But watch time, completion rate, shares, and overall engagement still play a major role in whether TikTok continues pushing a video.

Favorites stand out because they're one of the few engagement signals that usually reflect future intent rather than an immediate reaction, which could make them fundamentally different from likes or comments

Favorites are a helpful secondary signal, yet watch time and shares still dominate the algorithm ranking.

Likes are definitely helpful. Viewers will use likes to judge your post.

Why do I think Favorites are an interesting metric? bcz favorites have a different kind of intent than likes or instant comments. If someone saves ur video, he or she is basically saying this is valuable, I am going to return to it. But it does not means that it will substitute retention. The videos which are saved but do not keep the audience for long are unlikely to succeed.

Obviously favorites can be considered quite an intriguing metric since they denote greater commitment on the part of the user than just liking something. However, they can not really replace retention metrics.
In any case, any saved video which fails to keep the attention of the viewer will not reach anywhere, while engaging viewers, making them share and come back is what will give the content more chances to succeedd. The main thing remains the creation of useful content.

It’s definitely an engagement metric that works; however, for me, watch time and the completion rate would be higher in priority. It usually means high intent, but not necessarily the highest metric of growth.
From my experience, videos that retain viewers and cause them to share usually get promoted better.

Favorites are a measure of content value. When viewers click Save/Favorite, they intend to return to watch it again. TikTok values posts with high professional value. To increase Favorites, create videos in list format, step-by-step tutorials, or share concise knowledge that viewers can't remember all at once.
