Who doesn't wait for those awesome sales on Epic Games, or Steam to get a title they've wanted for a long time? It's expected to them. The games get downloaded, run for a single launch to see if they run, and then closed for good.

Then, half a year passes. What's our reason for this anyway? Why not continue to login each weekend for the exact multiplayer game we've been playing for five years? Maybe we've really been spending money for a game collection and not to actually play the games. : )

Similar to domains, I buy too many and never do anything with half of them, I really should just stick with a couple and invest more time into them. But sometimes new things sounds so fun and promising!

The last game I bought is Diablo4. Before that it was Baulders Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Next one will likely be Divinity 3. I've moved beyond my buying and hoarding games I'll never play years. My husband on the other hand....

You are totally correct about the domain. Buying the domain is the best because you get to dream about the possibilities and do none of the work. For a reason no one seems to understand, you get the city of bright, shiny new things and lose sight of what you started. Following just a couple ideas is the way to go, no matter how difficult it is to execute.
Sadly games don't really interest me anymore.

Hunniepop was the last "game" I played.
Ending your gaming career with Hunniepop is an iconic way to go out.

I get it. When you do the same thing day in and day out, sometimes the last thing you wanna do is spend your free time gaming. I guess that just means you've outgrown it.

You've got a great list of games there. All of the titles you mentioned show you have the dedication to buy and actually play long role-playing games (like Baldur's Gate 3). That dedication is something I lack, because I'll buy a new game and then go right back to my usuals, Call of Duty or Tekken 8.

I'd say it's a pretty respectable achievement to be able to break the hoarder cycle. Your man is a legend for ensuring that the legacy continues, while you break free.

I’d say don't feel pressured to play every game you buy. Sometimes the fun is in the hunt and knowing the game is there when you’re ready for it. My advice is to stop looking at it as a backlog and just play whatever genuinely interests you at the moment.

Ghost of Tsushima was the best game i played and i am a big fan of cricket i remember the game EA SPORTS 2007. Now i dont have much time to play but i will surely plan for it.

I like this a lot. Considering it more of a personal library helps instead of thinking of it as a backlog of books. It helps instead of thinking as a backlog of books that need to be read, and thinking of it as a personal library helps relieve the pressure.

This is a fun approach. Instead of read the books in your free time, do whatever makes you happy instead.
Another thread that's a personal attack.
I had to confront myself and my awful habits, so I’m dragging the rest of the forum with me.

Don’t worry, we’re all in the same mess together. Sometimes, you have to see what other people you can call out with your habits.

EA Sports Cricket 2007 is a classic. Nothing can compare to the nostalgia we get from games during that time.

I completely get it. Family has to come first during the days and so does football during the weekend. You just don't get enough free time to have a proper gaming session.

I hope you get a weekend break from everything soon. You have to play Ghost of Tsushima before you run out of time.

That's definitely the case :D at least after a certain age, collections are cooler than actually playing the games
I get what you mean. Eventually, having an organized library pretty much has the same effect as launching a title. All we're doing right now is building our own personal digital museums.

It’s just like buying a bunch of books you think you’ll read while you’re retired. At this point, the collection is the hobby.
