Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed more creators optimizing their content for TikTok search and using keywords in captions and on-screen text.
Do you think search traffic is becoming a bigger factor in TikTok growth, or does the For You Page still drive most of the results?
Would love to hear your experience.

i used to do that all the time, I would find tiktok videos in my niche with the blue highlighted text in comments, and then create a video immediatly using the text. I used to get massive views, not sure if it still works in 2026, but search has always been a major source of traffic

I think search is definitely getting bigger on TikTok, especially for tutorials, tips, and other evergreen content. But for most accounts, the For You Page is still where the majority of views come from. Search is a nice bonus, but I wouldn't rely on it alone.

On TikTok, the For You Page still drives most of the growth, but search traffic is definitely becoming more important over time.

Overall, I think SEO-style posting is becoming useful. On TikTok, creators who use keywords clearly are getting more discoverability.

From what I’ve seen, the FYP still has the biggest spikes in reach, but TikTok search is becoming more important for long-term views. Videos with clear keywords in the caption, on screen text, and even spoken in the video seem to keep getting traffic weeks later.

My strategy is to optimize for both: create content that can perform on the FYP while making it easy for TikTok to understand what the video is about.

My advice is don’t ignore TikTok search. The For You Page still drives the majority of reach, but including relevant keywords in captions and on-screen text can help your content continue getting views long after the initial push. Using both seems to work better than relying on just one or the other.

On TikTok, the For You Page still drives most of the growth, but search is slowly becoming an important extra source of views.

Yes search traffic is definitely growing on TikTok especially for evergreen how-to and niche content. But the For You Page still drives the majority of reach and viral spikes. Best results usually come from optimizing for both.

Using relevant keywords in captions and on screen text can help videos stay discoverable for longer. However TikTok search seems to be getting more important lately especially for evergreen content. From what I've seen FYP is still the main source of traffic.

TikTok search is definitely becoming more important, especially for educational, review, and tutorial content. The For You Page still drives huge reach, but using clear keywords can help your videos get discovered by the right audience over time.
