Anyone else tired of the same ghosting problem in link exchange groups?

Been doing link building for a while now. The exchange groups I'm in (and I've tried a lot of them) all have the same issue — someone agrees to swap, you do your half, they never deliver theirs. Zero way to know who's reliable before you commit.


Curious if others have found workarounds, or if this is just accepted as the cost of doing exchanges. Building something on the side to try to fix this specifically with a reputation system but mostly just want to know if this is as widespread as it feels.

Why do you do your part first? Ask them to do their part first.
Do not submit for indexing unless they publish your article. Take down your article immediately if they don't publish within 12 hrs.
Blacklist them call them out openly in the group.

I do that, but what's the benefit. You point out one scammer, there will be 100 new others. There should be some consequences.

Are these facebook groups? if thats the case just forget about it , everyone is scammer there.

No, these are whatsapp groups or Slack groups. I don't mean that everyone is a scammer but just there should be any consequesnces. Actually, I am building something for link builders like us where we can hangout and transact easily with protection. Where do you get your links mostly?

I know few of such site they dont work for some reasons. I exchange (a->b->c) with guestpost seller/buyers who contact me via write for us page on my site(s).

Actually, I am building a platform for this problem exactly. I am tired of this and there is no single platform for link builders where they can connect with people easily without cold emails and manage their links inside the platform instead of spreadsheets. I am thinking to make a reputation system built in so that every time a deal is collapsed due to incompetence or spammers, it will show on their profiles. I named it Linksieve.

@LinkSieve the main issue with these platforms is always footprint risk... most guys with actually decent sites don't want to list their domains on a database because it's too easy for competitors or google to map the network. That's why people stick to messy Slack and Telegram groups even if they get burned sometimes.

If you can solve the privacy side of it where domains are hidden until there's mutual trust, you might have something. Otherwise it just becomes a database of low quality spammed out guest post farms pretty fast. How do you plan to handle the footprint issue?

Ask them to give you their links first and the problem will be solved.
