Cheap hosting became slow

Yes that's common on all cheap webhositng services they setup their overcrowded servers with bottlenecks all over the place, I mean webhosting who cost lesst than $15 monthly billing. And no tthink about godaddyfokkers, yes they have good fast servers, only their vps who costs serveral hundert bucks a month. They have big companies and celebrities as customers, but they buy these expensive servers not that gimmick of $12 or $30 wordpress plus hosting plans.

Or do you think that actor Walter Goggins uses a cheap Airo plan to sell his goggin goggle classes ? Think about it.

Happy Weekend !

Yeah we all go through this phase when starting out. i remember buying a cheap "unlimited" reseller plan years ago thinking i hit the jackpot for my pbns. first sign of actual traffic and the host suspended the whole account for resource abuse without even warning me. cheap shared hosting is only good for testing landers or basic static html sites nowadays. if you are getting real traffic just bite the bullet and get a decent VPS or at least a semi-dedicated setup... saves so much headache in the long run.

you get what you pay for, imo, there are things you can cheap out on when beginning but some things but you always have to think, is it worth the headache or no?

I watched this site looking for terracotta website color palettes: https://icolorpalette.com/terracotta/
Check it the site is built with wordpress, this beautiful wp site ha san never ending loading loop, it takes 5-7 minutes to load the full page, no matter if their images are compressed and full converted into webp format.

Since when the website owner would change his webhosting provider to Kinsta or WPX Hosting with or without cloudflare (they use cloudflare on their site) this page would not become faster never. And the so called world-class wordpress would never ever can handle millions of pins and website users like Pinterest, because of old PHP Database tech, when you have 10.000 visiotrs on your site the google bot must crawl deep hundred of thousands- millions of php database queries , the googlebot does not crawling that deep, only flat structures, which is one reason many websites falling in ranking / never get indexed- it's useless to use a modern cdn whatsoever, when the tech stack is old like wp.

All these big social platforms not using wordpress .

Happy Sunday !

Honestly the part everyone skips is shared hosting puts you on the same box as hundreds of other accounts, so even if YOUR site is fine someone else spiking can drag you down. Had a client site crawl during a sale once and turned out it was a neighbour on the same server getting hammered, nothing to do with us.

@The WP Nerd nailed it tho, cheap shared is fine for landers and test stuff but the second you got real traffic move to a vps. Doesnt even have to be expensive... a basic cloud vps with proper caching set up will outperform most $30 "premium" shared plans easy. The bottleneck is almost never the price tag, its the overselling.

Yes that's right, I highly agree with it.

Started with cheap hosting plan and everything was fine at first. once traffic increased, site became painfully slow. anyone else learned this lesson the hard way?
Yeah that's the thing with free web hosting. When the traffic spikes upwards, your site can't handle it.
