Try the "Suggest an edit" route first. Website URL edits often get approved if the site clearly matches the business name, NAP, and branding. If that fails, you'll likely need to recover ownership.

Suggest an edit rarely sticks for url changes on a listing you dont control, specially if the old url is still live. @RyanCrawls is right that recovery is the cleaner play here. Go through the "request access" flow in business profile, it'll ping whoever has ownership now and if they dont respond in a week you can escalate to reclaim. Honestly thats the only edit thats gonna hold long term... edits get reverted all the time when you're not the verified owner.

true, but in these case there is no owner (it was me), why sould it get reverted?
What type of gmail account would have the higher chance of sticking?

Aged Google accounts with a history of Maps edits/reviews tend to stick better from what i have seen. But matching NAP and branding on the target URL usually matters more than the Gmail itself.

If it was your listing originally, request access is the move, no question. Go into Business Profile Manager, hit "request access" with the email you want as the new owner, and it pings whoever google currently has flagged as managing it. Since you said theres no active owner anymore, the request usually times out after 3-7 days and then you can claim it outright.
The reason suggest an edit gets reverted isnt about whether theres an owner... its that crowd edits to website url are low trust signals to google, so they bounce them unless theres strong corroboration. Recovery puts you back as verified, then you change the url from inside in like 2 seconds and it sticks permanent.
One thing nobody mentioned, if the old url is still live and resolving, take it down or 301 it first. Google sometimes wont let the edit hold while the original is up and matching. Had that exact issue on a client listing last year, edit kept snapping back till we killed the old domain.

even if you think there is no owner google still has the old verification data on their end so they treat it as claimed... thats why edits from random accounts get auto-rejected. if you really want to try the suggest an edit route you need a local guide account with high trust, ideally level 6 or up with actual maps activity in that specific city. but honestly why waste time waiting on edits to get approved when the recovery flow is guaranteed? just trigger the request access and wait out the 3 days, its way faster than trying to force an edit to stick on a soft-claimed listing.
