DAY 5 ROUND-UP
Well, yesterday there was more drawing than in an art class. But the most shocking of those results came when Spain (@Fransh) somehow could only manage a goalless draw with Cabo Verde (@mnunes532). Spain's tactic of passing the ball sideways and backwards for 90 minutes surprisingly couldn't break down the minnows' defence. A great moment for Cabo Verde, though, the greatest result in their footballing history.
Iraq (@Starblazer) vs. Norway (@thelightgame) could be a mismatch and that could be entirely down to Erling Haaland. But Norway have a good all-round team, one of the best in their history, and I'd expect them to ease through this. 2-0 to them, I say.
Holders Argentina (@sms_chief_of_messaging) debut with their extremely powerful squad, and I'd expect them to ease past a talented Algeria (@Maximilian P.) team. 3-1 to the Argentinians.
And the late / early game (delete as applicable) sees Austria (@Danielag) face Jordan (@Aleandra). Both sides are disciplined and well organised but I'd expect Austria to have too much here and to win 2-0.

-------------------------
The best game of the day surprisingly came from the 2-2 draw between New Zealand (@chinin) and Iran (@Naits). Both sides had chances to win but a draw was a fair result. I was expecting this game to make me comatose, so thanks to both teams.
-------------------------
Instead that honour went to the 1-1 draw between Uruguay (@kaliof) and Saudi Arabia (@TheMarquis). Uruguay seemed genuinely pleased to steal a draw in this one and should probably have won it when they actually decided to make some attacks during the last 10 minutes. Otherwise, a thoroughly crap game.
-------------------------
Belgium's (@Steptoe) 1-1 draw with Egypt (@onebink) wasn't much better but it did at least feature two teams who were trying to win. Belgium were quite disappointing but if they can get Lukaku on the pitch more, they've always got a chance.
-------------------------
Another four games today - many people's favourites France (@Cheyande) take on Senegal (@Victorjo). Not expecting a shock here and I reckon France could give a statement performance. I'm going 3-0 to the French.

You'd never guess this guy supports Uruguay, would you?
