that a great idea, traffic can be massive on big developments, but can die off between news cycles but If you go that route I would think more about wider geopolitics, foreign policy, and regional analysis rather than just Iran-USA news. That gives you a more stable traffic base while still benefiting from breaking news when interest spikes.

Event-driven traffic is likely to exhibit peak when there is an event taking place with lulls in between. the topic that I will choose for the niche market is geopolitics with respect to the middle east region.

You're late to the party. Maybe cover a broader niche related to wars and skirmishes around the world. But pretty difficult to rank because bigger media houses live for such events. They set up a live page giving real time information.
